❌SAFETY FIRST❌
Dermal filler is an art, but it is also a medical procedure.
One of the safety steps that should never be rushed or overlooked is aspiration. This is the process of gently pulling back on the syringe before injecting, to check that the needle or cannula is NOT inside a blood vessel.
Injecting filler into a vessel can lead to serious complications. Aspiration adds an extra layer of safety, allowing the practitioner to pause, reassess, and proceed correctly.
Equally important is who is holding the syringe.
A medically trained practitioner doesn’t just know how to inject. They are trained to:
• Understand complex facial anatomy
• Recognise early warning signs
• Stay calm under pressure
• Act quickly and correctly if something doesn’t go to plan
In aesthetics, calm decision making is just as important as technique. Safety isn’t about reacting in panic, it’s about prevention, preparation, and professional judgement.
When choosing filler treatments, don’t just ask what product is being used.
Ask about training, medical background, and safety protocols.
Because beautiful results should always begin with safe hands 🩺✨
