Hi all, as an aromatherapist I am trained to choose a blend of essential oils for a specific client. I go a little beyond that and work out an essential oil profile for each person which allows me to see the type of essential oils that would most benefit an individual given there specific needs, I also take into account the changes that occur in a persons life and what other essential oils would be of benefit as we work together, always taking into account contra indications that may come about because of a life change.

Many of us suffer from some form of chronic back pain in that it seems to be with us permanently. This is usually due to the job that we do as repetitive tasks, standing for long periods of time or standing or sitting hunched over equipment can cause what seems to be permanent problems with our backs. Massage work with a reputable therapist, not a spa pamper, can help to alleviate the pain. As a therapist I passively stretch the muscles making them soft and malleable and will find the points in your back were the muscles are permanently tight working on them to help release the tension. With regular massage work the pain can lessen and become much more manageable helping to maintain your ability to remain in the work place. Plai is a member of the ginger family and the essential oil can be used in the management of chronic pain conditions. Used alongside an anti inflammatory oil such as Chamomile it can extend the therapeutic duration of a treatment. It could also be used as part of a pain management regime if used as part of a topical application.

This is a new oil to my collection and already it is a firm favorite. It has a fragrance similar to geranium but i feel it is less heady and more pleasant to use. Palmarosa has a moisturising effect on the skin which makes it valuable for all types of skin. It is also amazing for stress and nervous exhaustion especially when used with other stress busting oils.
