It’s a hard job but someone has to do it 😎

The weather ☀️ is just too good to stay indoors. Thursday seen a group of us heading to Windsor 🏰 where we had a little tour 🚌 round town before heading down to the river for a lovely picnic 🧺 in the shade, lovingly made by the kitchen team👩‍🍳. We watched the world go by, chatted to a few tourists, and fed the swans 🦢 geese 🪿 and ducks 🦆 We love to give our residents the respect and dignity they deserve, because they have made our lives possible🙏🏻

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon trip 🚌

Wednesday morning was a first for Bondcare’s Derwent Lodge 🏡. The desire to visit the seaside 🌊 was strong and we decided to take advantage of the wonderful weather ☀️. Soo … we piled into the bus 🚌 and off we set. We didn’t even give Bournemouth a heads up before we arrived!!
What an absolutely wonderful day we had. Sun ☀️, sea 🌊, sand 🏖️, and fish 🐟 and chips 🍟 We were a joyous bunch, comprising our lovely newest member to the Derwent family Sebastian, who joined “old hands” Mike, Hilda, and Salvador. “The Boss” Vincent kept the staff in check 🤫 Rolita, Benedicta, Ramila, Brijesh, Amrit, Carolynne and we couldn’t have made it there without our driver Mishek. The smiles were wide and the appetites were sated. There were a few nodding, sleepyheads 😴 on the drive home. Happy, happy, happy faces 😍

We have our wheels 🚌. We drove 🛞 through Richmond park 🌳 🌳 and stopped to watch the deer 🦌 resting in the shade. We then took in the beautiful view 👀 from the top of Richmond Hill. The residents enjoyed reminiscing with Darren about their favourite places from around the area. We stopped off at Walton on Thames for a snack 🥪 🍌 and some drinks🥤 before heading home just in time for dinner, maybe just a little bit 😴 but definitely very happy 😃

Refurbishment has been completed on Star Unit. Our residents are so happy with their new look dining room and quiet lounge, perfect for socialising, or enjoying some downtime on their own, or with family and friends 🍽️ 🧘‍♀️
