3 gentle ways to ground yourself today:

✨ Bare feet on natural ground
Step outside and let your feet connect with sand, grass, or earth. Feel the temperature, the texture, and the support beneath you. Even a few minutes can help your body settle.

✨ Slow your breath
Inhale gently for 4 counts, then exhale slowly for 6. The longer exhale signals safety to the nervous system and helps shift you out of “fight or flight”.

✨ Come back to your senses
Notice one thing you can see, one thing you can hear, and one thing you can feel in your body right now. This brings your attention out of your thoughts and back into the present moment.

Sometimes grounding is all you need.

January is a time we naturally crave a slower pace.
A chance to soften, to rest, to move more intentionally.

At Flow in Felton, we love leaning this month's quieter energy. But the world doesn’t always allow space for it. The pressure to be productive, to reset, to rush forward can feel loud, even when our bodies are asking for stillness.

If you’re not moving at full speed right now, that’s not something to fix. Slowness is not falling behind. Rest is not a pause from progress, it’s part of it.

This is your Blue Monday reminder to honour where you are.
Move gently. Breathe deeply. Rest without guilt.

Don't know about you, but we’re already really looking forward to spring and summer, when the days are longer and we can start running activities from The Plot again - Felton’s Community Allotment 🌱

We’re so grateful to have received £100 per month in funding from The Plot committee, allowing us to host accessible, community-led sessions rooted in the same ethos as our monthly retreats.

These activities create welcoming spaces to slow down, connect and take part in something nourishing, while also ensuring the practitioners hosting them are paid a fair and respectful rate for their time and skill.

If your body feels tired but your mind won’t slow down, Yoga Nidra might be exactly what you need.

Often called 'yogic sleep', Yoga Nidra is a guided meditation that supports deep rest by gently guiding you into the space between waking and sleeping. The body can relax fully, while the mind remains softly aware.

This practice is especially supportive if you struggle to switch off, find rest without guilt, or feel like your nervous system is constantly “on”.

Join the lovely Claire Stewart for our Yoga Nidra session on Friday 23rd January 1 – 2:30pm, a gentle space to reset and allow your nervous system to soften.

✨ 4 ways to create a slow, nourishing January ✨

1. Stay connected, softly
Connection doesn’t have to be loud or busy. Share a meal, join a gentle class, or spend time with people who help you feel at ease.

2. Honour rest without guilt
Winter asks us to move more slowly. Say yes to early nights, quiet mornings and doing a little less — rest is productive too.

3. Choose gentle movement
Think stretching, slow yoga, walks in nature and movement that feels supportive rather than demanding.

4. Create small daily rituals
A warm drink, a few deep breaths, journalling, lighting a candle — tiny moments of intention can shift the whole day.

Our retreats are designed to be financially accessible, relaxed and welcoming ☺️

They’re held in a warm, cosy space where you can just step back from the busyness of everyday life and simply invest in you for a few hours. There’s no pressure, no rushing, just time to slow down, breathe and reset.

We also consciously schedule our retreats to work around school hours, so they don’t eat into your existing commitments. Enough time to truly relax and unwind, without the added stress of arranging childcare.
