With a heavy heart, I want to share that the time has come for me to step away from Squirhill Therapeutic Spaces.

Balancing Squirhill alongside a full time job has always been a challenge, but since welcoming my daughter two years ago, it has become even more difficult. The decision was ultimately sealed when we made the move, 200 miles away, to be closer to family

Coming to terms with letting go of Squirhill has not been easy. However, it is extremely important to me that Squirhill continues to be a space where complementary, alternative, and integrated therapy practitioners can thrive in a high quality, healing environment.

With this in mind, I am so pleased to announce that from January 2025, Melanie Hartgill - Chartered Educational Psychologist will be taking over Squirhill Therapeutic Space and continuing its mission

I want to say a heartfelt thank you to each of you for supporting me in growing Squirhill to what it is today

For those who know me well, it may come as no surprise that my next business venture is already in the planning stages. However, for now, I’m focusing on settling into our new home and finding a bit more balance in life

Our new Bloon emerald green velvet bloon seat is proving to be a favourite; I am a little in love myself

Are you working from home? How do you feel about it?

I have been working from home for a while now. I have mixed feelings about it. Lack of a commute, ability to make a fresh lunch every day, being at home to receive deliveries, flexibility to take a moment out if you need it…balanced with loneliness, eyestrain and inactivity

If like me, you need some time out from time to time, the SQUIRHILL focus room is available for hot desk style coworking from 07:00-22:00 daily for £3.50 per hour

Currently limited to two people but increasing to four from 1st March 2022

Our founder, Kiara Fleur Harper, has been busy studying for her Aromatherapy and Essential Oils Science Diploma with Neal’s Yard Remedies. Once training is complete, it will be incorporated into the SQUIRHILL apothecary where we will offer a range of exciting products and services

In the meantime, Kiara is seeking volunteers to have free treatments in our lovely shared workspace. She has been overwhelmed by the kindness of people thus far, offering their time to support her training

There are still a few dates available until the end of March:

Happy New Year lovely people. It felt a little like 2021 was all about survival didn’t it?

I was a little quiet on here in 2021 but I wanted to share a look back on the year for me and SQUIRHILL

🍂 Kept SQUIRHILL shared workspace open all year, with limited numbers
🍂 Started a new day job at Ocado
🍂 Launched and later deactivated our app INSQUIRE; this is still in the plan for the future, when I have more time and am able to commission a bespoke design
🍂 Started a diploma in Aromatherapy and Essential Oil Science with Neals Yard Remedies and launched SQUIRHILL apothecary
🍂 Carried out a few small branding projects
🍂 Got married to my amazing husband
🍂 Continued to manage my health and in the process learnt a lot about functional medicine, nutrition and autoimmune conditions

So, what does 2022 hold?

🍂 Continue to provide a high quality shared workspace
🍂 Undertake many free massages with SQUIRHILL apothecary
🍂 Launch a small range of natural products SQUIRHILL apothecary
🍂 Launch SQUIRHILL lifestyle store
🍂 Move house and create a loving family home with Innocent C Ufomba
