📢 Important Update for Today
Our internet will be temporarily down for about 1 hour between 11am–12pm today.

We’ll be following our contingency plan to keep everything running as smoothly as possible. The surgery will remain open as normal, and our phone lines will still be active for any enquiries.

💡 Have you seen our new PPG Information Board?
Our brilliant Patient Participation Group (PPG) have created a brand-new board in our waiting room — this will be updated by our wonderful volunteers.

The board is designed to answer commonly asked non-medical questions:

📝 Next to the board, you’ll find a question box — simply pop in your query, and our volunteers will add the answer to the board at the next update.

Current questions on the board include:

❓ Are you aware of the Herbert Protocol?

❓ Why is my appointment late when nobody is in the waiting room?

❓ Did you know you can access the NHS App on your tablet, laptop, or PC?

❓ Did you know Ferndown Community Group can help with Blue Badge applications and other forms?

📍 Take a look next time you’re in the waiting room — you might just discover something new!

📢 HPV Vaccine Catch-Up Campaign

We’ve recently contacted patients who may have missed their HPV (Human Papillomavirus) vaccination, which reduces your chances of getting several types of cancer.

✅ Who is eligible?
The HPV vaccine is routinely offered to boys and girls aged 12 to 13, but if you missed it at school, you may still be able to catch up for free up to age 25.

📲 If you received a text from us or are unsure whether you've had the vaccine, please call the surgery on 01202 897000 to check your records and arrange an appointment if needed.

📢 Cervical Screening Invitations Now Available via the NHS App

Women and people with a cervix aged 25 to 64 may now receive their cervical screening (smear test) invitation directly through the NHS App.

📞 If you receive an invite, please contact the surgery to book your appointment.

We understand that cervical screening can bring up a lot of emotions—it’s completely normal to feel nervous or unsure. Whether it’s your first time or you’ve had a difficult experience in the past, our nurses are here to support you with compassion, sensitivity, and care.

✨ Screening can help prevent cervical cancer, and your comfort and dignity are our priority.
