Living Well Taking Control is hosting a free webinar on Cholesterol and Type 2 Diabetes Prevention on Wednesday, 22nd October 2025, from 12:00 to 12:40 pm.

This session is designed for patients who are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes or have been diagnosed with prediabetes but have not yet accessed the NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme (NDPP). We are particularly keen to engage patients from deprived areas, ethnic minority backgrounds, younger demographics, and those with a history of gestational diabetes, as these groups are at higher risk.

Why is this important?

Early intervention can significantly reduce the likelihood of Type 2 diabetes and its complications, improve long-term health outcomes and reduce strain on healthcare services. Through this webinar, attendees will:

โœ” Learn more about how managing cholesterol can help reduce your risk of developing type 2 diabetes.

โœ” Discover the long-term benefits of addressing prediabetes early to prevent progression to type 2 diabetes and other associated health concerns.

โœ” More practical tips on lifestyle changes including healthy eating, managing stress, improving sleep and enhancing your environment.

โœ” Discover free NHS resources available to support lifestyle changes

Important information about Dental Services in Dorset

Important information about Dental Services in Dorset

Your GP practice is often the first point of contact for those experiencing dental pain, particularly patients who are not registered with an NHS dental practice. Patients can often become very upset when they are advised that GP surgeries can not provide dental care.

To support patients, NHS Dorset has commissioned 29 dental practices across Dorset to provide one-off urgent care. The most straightforward route for patients to access this service is via NHS 111.

For further guidance and answers to frequently asked questions on accessing appropriate dental care for urgent or longer-term treatment, please follow this link>>

โ—Quick heads up for Sunday 7 September, 3pm โ—
The UK Government is testing its National Emergency Alert system โ€” so around 3pm your phone might suddenly make a loud siren sound for about 10 seconds (even if itโ€™s on silent). Totally normal, just a test.

Most people donโ€™t need to do anything, but if youโ€™ve got a phone you keep private and really donโ€™t want it going off, you can switch these alerts off in your settings. Thereโ€™s simple guidance on gov.uk>>
