If prolonged, this can affect sleep, digestion, immunity, and mood.

🔎 The Stress Cycle:

⚡ Trigger – A situation, thought, or event sparks stress.

💓 Physiological Response – Heart rate rises, muscles tense, breathing quickens.

🌀 Emotional Reaction – Anxiety, irritability, or frustration emerges.

🔄 Behavioral Response – Overeating, withdrawal, or snapping at others.

A gentle note from my heart🩵

If you're feeling under the weather with either a cold, cough or flu-like symptoms - please let me know before your appointment with me at Holistic Hummingbird.

My husband will be starting his chemotherapy journey next week, and as his immune system will be more delicate I'm taking extra care to protect his wellbeing while continuing to hold space for yours. 🩵

💚World Mental Health Day💚

I won't lie - this year my mental wellbeing has been tested beyond anything I could have ever imagined.

What started as a year full of plans, dreams, and hope... turned into our worst nightmare overnight.

My husband was suddenly diagnosed with cancer - and within 8 weeks, he faced not one, but two major surgeries.

Our summer disappeared in hospital corridors, recovery rooms, and endless waves of worry.

At the same time, I was trying to hold it all together - supporting my husband physically and emotionally, while also being there for my autistic son, who was finishing Year 9 and preparing to start his GCSE Year.

Add into the mix my own health - living with Fibromyalgia and navigating the Menopause - and life became incredibly overwhelming.

Holding space for everyone. Holding it all together when it felt like everything was falling apart.
Simple tasks my husband would normally do suddenly became my responsibility.
Overnight, I became a single parent in every sense of the word.

And honestly... it's been tough.

My mental health has taken a hit.

Anxiety crept in quietly at first, and even with all the tools, techniques, and knowledge I have - it still managed to get the better of me on some days.

Some days, I coped.
Some days, I crumbled.
And I've learned that both are okay.

💚It's okay to not have it all together.
💚It's okay to ask for help and lean on others.
💚 It’s okay to rest, to cry, to scream, to feel it all.
💚And it's also okay to laugh, to find joy, and to keep living even in the midst of chaos.

Now, as we begin the next chapter - Chemo
I know the road ahead won't be easy.
But I also know that I'm surrounded by love, support, and community.
And that makes all the difference.

So on this World Mental Health Day, please remember..

❤️You are Never Alone❤️

Even in the darkest moments, there is light.
Even when you feel like you're breaking, you're still becoming.

💚Be gentle with yourself.
💚Reach out.
💚Keep going.

Because even when life tests you beyond comprehension..

Children's Mental Health Matters So Deeply 💚

Our little ones may be small in size, but their hearts and minds feel everything so deeply.

In today's world, where life moves fast, and emotions often get brushed aside - our children need safe spaces to feel, to express, and to be heard.

Supporting a child's mental health isn't just about helping them when things go wrong...

It's about teaching them that their feelings are valid.
That it's okay to cry.
That it's brave to ask for help. And that calm, joy and confidence can be nurtured - just like seeds in a garden.

When we help children understand their emotions, release their worries and reconnect with their inner strength, we're giving them tools that last a lifetime.

Through gentle practices like Reiki, EFT tapping, chakra and crystal healing, children can learn to self-soothe, build resilience, and develop a sense of safety within themselves.

It aims to break taboo and improve women's health and wellbeing by raising awareness about the symptoms of menopause and the support options available.

Anyone suffering with a Full Moon Hangover?🙈✨🌕✨

The Full Moon can feel like a cosmic shake-up for our mind, body, and soul, with many people, particularly those who are highly sensitive to energy, experiencing symptoms such as exhaustion, fatigue, and a feeling of being spaced-out and disconnected from reality.

This can be due to the Full Moon’s strong gravitational force, hitting us like a tidal wave, shaking up our emotions and leaving us feeling ungrounded and out of balance.

In the days following a Full Moon, it can feel like we’re walking on clouds or swimming in a sea of emotions, struggling to find our footing.

This can be both disorienting and exhausting, making it difficult to focus on even the simplest tasks.

While the moon is at its fullest, the energy it emits is at its most potent, making us more attuned to the energy surrounding us, including our own emotions and the emotions of those around us.

This heightened awareness can be a double-edged sword. On one hand, it allows us to tap into our intuition and spiritual energy, providing us with valuable insights and guidance. On the other hand, the Full Moon can be exhausting and overwhelming – especially in the 24-48 hours that follow – if we don’t take the time to ground ourselves and recharge our energy.

Full Moon hangover can manifest in a variety of ways, both spiritually and physically.

Here is a list of some of the most common symptoms:

Heightened emotional states
Intense and vivid dreams
Feeling “zoned out” or disconnected from surroundings
Difficulty focusing or making decisions

However, it’s important to remind ourselves that these symptoms are only temporary and will soon pass, allowing us to return to our vibrant and energized selves once again.

Feeling unusually tired or drained, even after getting enough sleep, is one of the most common symptoms associated with a Full Moon hangover.

A Full Moon hangover can also manifest physically as aches and pains.
