December 18th we were truly humbled to provide transport and a warm lunch for some of our service users. As a registered charity, giving back is at the heart of what we do — and it’s often the small acts of kindness that make the biggest difference in tackling social isolation and helping people build new friendships.

We were also joined by the incredibly talented choir from Dene Bank School, who filled the room with our favourite Christmas songs. Watching our service users sing along, smile, and connect with one another was nothing short of wonderful. Moments like these remind us how powerful community can be.

Katie - our registered manager said ‘’ I would like to give heartfelt thank you to everyone who helped make the day so special. Kindness, connection, and companionship truly go a long way, what a wonderful day it was” 💜

As we reach the final moments of this year, we want to pause and say thank you to every volunteer, member of staff, supporter, partner, and service user who has been part of our journey.
Together this year, we have achieved something truly remarkable.
We have supported over 5,000 people, travelling more than one million miles to ensure individuals could attend vital routine health appointments. We have grown our team by 71%, strengthening our ability to support those who rely on us every day. We proudly supported 30 students, giving them hands-on experience and helping them gain the essential skills they need to thrive in industry.
Beyond this, we worked alongside other social care providers to deliver arts and crafts days and shared meals for service users, supported numerous community groups both financially and through our time, and introduced a dedicated day of volunteering for all staff. We launched our Social Value Policy and Strategy, installed our first electric charging points, and collaborated with partners including Nissan, Amazon, and Arriva to create meaningful, lasting social impact.
This year, we didn’t just make progress — we moved mountains.
None of this would have been possible without the compassion, dedication, and hard work of our incredible teams and volunteers, or the trust of the people and communities we serve. You are the heart of everything we do.
As we step into the New Year, we do so with pride in how far we’ve come, gratitude for everyone who made it possible, and hope for everything we will achieve together.
From all of us, thank you — and here’s to an even brighter year ahead. 💜✨

This Christmas, we want to take a moment to say a huge thank you to every one of our Volunteers, Health Care Assistants, and Patient Transport Staff.

Your dedication, compassion, and tireless commitment throughout the year have made a real difference to the lives of the people we support. Together, you have helped deliver essential services to over 5,000 people, covering more than 1 million miles across the North East. That is an extraordinary achievement and one that should make us all incredibly proud.

Whether you were offering care, providing transport, or giving your time behind the scenes, your kindness and professionalism have been at the heart of everything we do. You are the reason our charity continues to thrive and reach those who need us most.

As we reflect on the year, it’s clear just how remarkable our charity is — and that’s entirely because of you. Thank you for going above and beyond, for supporting one another, and for helping us deliver vital services to communities across the North East.

Wishing you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy New Year. We look forward to everything we will achieve together in the year ahead.

With sincere thanks and festive wishes,
All at Supportive

Margaret Fenwick, from Newton Aycliffe Rotary Club, has visited us at the Ferryhill office and kindly donated some 'Fiddle Muffs', which is a sensory stimulation aid that has been shown to bring increased enjoyment and reduced anxiety, to help some of our services users keep themselves occupied.

Thank you Margaret. 💜
