☕🍓 Afternoon Tea at Tenlands 🍓☕

There was a real treat in store for residents at Tenlands Care Home last week, with a lovely afternoon tea enjoyed by all.

Freshly made scones, jam, and cream were served up beautifully—and it didn’t take long for the compliments to start! One resident said it best:
“It’s just like being in a café!” 😊

The tea sparked plenty of conversation too, with residents chatting about favourite places they’ve visited and memories of afternoons spent out and about.

Good food, good company, and a relaxed atmosphere—just the way it should be. 💛

🐣💙 A thoughtful Easter at Tenlands 💙🐣

Spring always brings a lovely sense of warmth to Tenlands Care Home, but this Easter felt extra special.

A few days before the weekend, we received a generous surprise from Linthorpe Beds — boxes of beautifully wrapped Easter eggs, ready to be shared across the home 🍫

Residents were delighted. Some shared stories of Easter celebrations from years gone by, while others simply enjoyed the moment, chatting with friends and tucking into a well-earned treat.

It’s a gesture like this that means so much. Not just for the chocolate, but for the kindness behind it — a reminder that our residents are thought of and valued within their community.

A big thank you to Linthorpe Beds for such a thoughtful gift. It really did make Easter at Tenlands feel that little bit more special.💙

💙 Easter weekend is always something special in our homes 💙

Over the next few days, our homes will be filled with familiar faces, warm hugs, and the joy of being together. Families, friends and loved ones will be popping in, sharing stories, laughter… and of course, plenty of chocolate treats 🍫🐣

These moments matter. They bring comfort, connection and a real sense of home — not just for the people who live with us, but for everyone who walks through our doors.

While the celebrations are in full swing, we’re also incredibly grateful for our teams who will be there throughout the bank holiday weekend, doing what they do best. Showing up, caring, supporting, and making sure every day continues to be safe, warm and full of kindness.

To our staff, our residents, their families, and our wider community — thank you for being part of it all.

🍀 St Patrick’s Day at Tenlands Care Home 🍀

There’s been a wonderful atmosphere at Tenlands Care Home as residents and staff came together to celebrate St Patrick’s Day in style.

The home looked fantastic, beautifully decorated to create a real sense of occasion, with plenty of green and festive cheer throughout.

The celebrations continued into the afternoon with a fantastic singer, bringing music, smiles and a great singalong that everyone could enjoy. And of course, it wouldn’t be St Patrick’s Day without a little treat — with Baileys and Guinness adding to the fun!

Days like these are so important, bringing people together, creating laughter and making special memories.

A brilliant day enjoyed by all — Belated ,but still, Happy St Patrick’s Day from everyone at Tenlands! 💚

💕 Arts & Crafts Fun at Tenlands Care Home 💕

Our residents in Ferryhill enjoyed a lovely afternoon getting creative as they decorated beautiful love hearts. There was plenty of colour, lots of conversation and, of course, lots of smiles.

Activities like arts and crafts might look simple, but they play such an important role in daily life here at Tenlands. They help residents relax, encourage friendships and give everyone the chance to express themselves in their own unique way.

Creative sessions can spark memories, build confidence and provide a real sense of achievement when a project is finished. Most importantly, they bring people together.

At Tenlands, we believe meaningful activities are part of great care — supporting wellbeing, connection and a real sense of belonging. 💚

❤️ Valentine’s Day at Tenlands Care Home ❤️

We were delighted to welcome Musical Memories to our Ferryhill home as part of our Valentine’s Day celebrations.

The afternoon was filled with familiar love songs, gentle singalongs and the kind of shared moments that only music can create. Residents joined in, reminisced and, as always, the stories behind the songs were just as special as the music itself.

In a care setting, sessions like this are about far more than entertainment. Music supports memory, encourages social interaction and helps residents reconnect with important moments from their lives. It creates a sense of belonging and shared experience — something that is invaluable in later life.
