Ashtanga Yoga Glasgow Traditional Ashtanga Yoga Classes @ Finnieston Yoga Shala taught by KPJAYI authorized level 2 teacher Cathy Moran Classes taught in the tradition of Sri K.

A flowing sequence of postures linking breath with movement. Pattabhi Jois. MON/TUES/WED/THURS/FRI@ 6.30 - 8.30am MYSORE STYLE SELF PRACTISE. (Arrive 6.30am onwards, to finish by 8.30am)

The traditional way to practise the Ashtanga form of Yoga. In a mysore class the students work individually in a group setting, allowing them to work at their own pace, at a level suited to them. Rather than instructing from the front of the class, the teacher will walk around the room, giving individual verbal and hands-on adjustments where needed
Practised regularly, this system enables the student to progress step by step,
working safely and systematically through the ashtanga sequence. TUES @ 6 pm ASHTANGA LED CLASS, HALF PRIMARY SERIES

I’m teaching a new four part ‘Intro to Ashtanga’ course in February🙌

This course differs from previous ones; rather than taking a progressive step by step approach it will be a general overview of the full primary series, whilst still honing in on the fundamental techniques and concepts underpinning the practice.

The aim is to provide a fun and informative way to understand and get a feeling for the practice as a whole, and help you decide if it’s something you want to pursue with more intent !😊

Each 90 minute session will concentrate on a different section of the sequence :

⭐️Week 1 / Breathing Technique & Sun Salutations
⭐️Week 2/ Standing Sequence
⭐️Week 3/ Sitting Sequence
⭐️Week 4/ Backbends & Finishing Sequence

Each session will present the techniques and postures in a way that’s accessible to all levels, and is aimed primarily at those with limited or no experience of Ashtanga Yoga, although anyone can join in if they fancy an energising start to their Saturday!💃

💫 The course can be booked as a whole or as individual sessions ( which are included in your class passes and memberships !)

🌟Starts Saturday 7th February, 10.30-12
🌟Book through linktree ☝🏼☝🏼

Look forward to seeing you there !

I’ve had a slow start to the year, due to a lingering cold virus that was zapping my energy.. but today I felt I turned a corner - here I am after finally managing a full practice and feeling pretty good for it 💪🏼

This pattern repeats every year for me now - I rush around mentally busy, I have a few days off to rest and make merry, then I’m struck down with whatever’s doing the rounds. I’m so predictable 😅

So 2026 is under way, and I have definitely not hit the ground running, but I’m ok with that. Winter is nature’s way of telling us to take it easy, to rest, to reflect, and to look after our health . In ancient times January and February weren’t even part of the calendar - they were just ‘winter’ and the New Year started in March! Makes sense 😊

At the studio we’re here to help you ease your way into 2026 too .. we have our usual schedule up and running throughout January, and discounted prices until 20th!

Here’s what’s happening tomorrow:

⭐️9am : Ashtanga Fusion with Alexia
⭐️10.30am: Full Primary Series Led Class with Cathy( last one for a while)
🌙3-5pm : ‘Not the New Year‘ Monthly Women’s Circle
with Nicola Leslie-Gallagher and Sarah Morrison
( Contact Nicola directly for bookings and info for this event )

Hope you can join us, but whatever your plans, take it easy, and have a great weekend! 🧡
