A regular movement/exercise routine can help to keep the body feeling younger every day and a yoga class can be a great way to boost your exercise routine.

When you have been in pain for a long time it’s natural that you want to know why. There must be a cause for it surely! But for so many of us there is no diagnosable reason, there is no damage, nothing to show on a scan or x-ray, or a blood test.

So you get passed from one health care pillar to another health care post. So you try one therapist or another. It helps, but the pain comes back and no one can explain why.

Because for many of us there is no physical reason. Pain comes back because our nervous system is in overload, and that won’t show up on an x-ray. I wish doctors were better at explaining this!

But that’s why treatments with me can help. Massage calm the nervous system . And talking to a therapist, like myself, who understands the nervous system and impact on pain can make a massive difference to.

People start yoga for reasons like wanting to be more flexible, but then realise that the physical benefits of yoga can be much more useful as little things like cleaning a shower tray, or putting on their jumper or socks.

Small things compared to suddenly being able to touch your toes, but they all add up to making daily lifting a lot easier.

Sometimes a maintenance massage can be dealing with a little ni**le that's popped up. But it can also be about enjoying a lovely massage and completely switching off!

Life without massage really isn’t worth contemplating! The thought of not being able to have regular massage to help keep on top the physical impact of work, stress from being a business owner, mum, housewife, plus the added impact of perimenopause. I can feel aches and pains creeping in at the thought of it and my poor back is crying in terror. But thankfully regular massage is real and I can look after myself, feel comfortable, not ache in work, enjoy my fun time and sleep better. It’s all worth the time, effort and expense!

Arnava Yoga Studio - helping with modern living

I founded Arnava Yoga Studio when I started teaching over 10 years ago after finally realising my dream to share my passion to keep people fit and healthy through teaching my beloved yoga and pilates.

I discovered yoga as part of my physical theatre and dance training as a student many moons ago and later found pilates as well, in an effort to look after my own back. Since then I have continued to use them to aid my own performance work and sports training. Over the years my practise has grown as I have used it to look after my own body, mind and well being. It has helped me over the years as I have over come injury as well as through pregancy. My life, like so many of us these days, is packed to bursting with work, family commitments and personal interests and my practise with Yoga and Pilates keeps me mentally and physically healthy.

I try to keep my classes “real” with an emphasis on every class suiting the individual needs. I am a strong believer that every person in my classes should work at their best potential for that day and take into account that that can change from week to week. Whilst observing the strong traditions that Pilates and more importantly Yoga have sustained over many years, I believe that we can use them to aid our busy modern lives and keep ourselves strong, fit and healthy.

Arnava Yoga Studio is based in Fishguard at Wintern House Health & Wellness Centre. We have Yoga and Pilates classes, to suit all shapes and sizes through the week. Check out our timetable and events page for up to date information.
