We offer Yoga and Pilates classes, that are small, friendly and with no pressure. For extra support we also offer clinical massage to really get you moving. Monday 9.30am Yoga Flow

Of course we don't actually "store"or "hold" tension in our muscles - but as a reaction to stress we tighten up muscles, and most of us do grip that tension in a certain area of the body, but it can also manifest in other random spots in the body too.

By blending fascial work, hot stones, deep tissue massage and some gentle stretching I can help relieve the discomfort and tension in your muscles as well as helping your mind to relax too.

Once you are in a class then more often than not it feels much easier than you thought it would be. And if for some reason something doesn't feel right you can always adjust and skip something to suit just what you do need. You will nearly always feel better for doing something over nothing!

Think of my classes as something you are guided through, with an inspiration on how to move with help on hand when something really doesn't feel right or work, rather than bootcamp where you can't opt out!

Less is often better than more - and whilst some discomfort during a massage is fine, if you are lying there gritting your teeth as the muscles tighten up away from the pressure, it isn't helping your body to relax and release pain in the best way

To achieve the best results to help with pain and tension in the body I won't go all out with pressure, but manage the pressure to achieve the best result to help you out of pain.

Walk into most yoga classes and you'll find a bunch of people who can't touch their toes, can't bend their legs into pretzel shape or stand on their head. But you will find a bunch of people who know that yoga helps them to look after their body, manage their pain, calm their mind, feel more relaxed, and sleep better.

Yoga is far more than a series of stretches, it is a system of self improvement which is why it offers so much more than just some exercises to help your back.

Arnava Yoga Studio - helping with modern living

I founded Arnava Yoga Studio when I started teaching over 10 years ago after finally realising my dream to share my passion to keep people fit and healthy through teaching my beloved yoga and pilates.

I discovered yoga as part of my physical theatre and dance training as a student many moons ago and later found pilates as well, in an effort to look after my own back. Since then I have continued to use them to aid my own performance work and sports training. Over the years my practise has grown as I have used it to look after my own body, mind and well being. It has helped me over the years as I have over come injury as well as through pregancy. My life, like so many of us these days, is packed to bursting with work, family commitments and personal interests and my practise with Yoga and Pilates keeps me mentally and physically healthy.

I try to keep my classes “real” with an emphasis on every class suiting the individual needs. I am a strong believer that every person in my classes should work at their best potential for that day and take into account that that can change from week to week. Whilst observing the strong traditions that Pilates and more importantly Yoga have sustained over many years, I believe that we can use them to aid our busy modern lives and keep ourselves strong, fit and healthy.

Arnava Yoga Studio is based in Fishguard at Wintern House Health & Wellness Centre. We have Yoga and Pilates classes, to suit all shapes and sizes through the week. Check out our timetable and events page for up to date information.
