Take a moment to look at the image

It feels apt that I have completed my domestic violence and grief and loss including baby loss training this week with it being domestic violence awareness month and baby and infant loss day on the 15th.

For people who are or have experienced either of these, my thoughts are with you!

If you would like a space to explore emotions around these subjects and what it means to you. And who are you after these experiences then please contact me and book an appointment.

These cards are a nice size to hold, they are on 369sgm weighted card and the box they are stored in is a sturdy box mage from recycled paper. This does. It mean it’s flimsy. It’s anything but. Just a little better for the environment.

Using images like this is so helpful in counselling and coaching.
Why?
Because it means something different to everyone, and hearing the meaning that someone puts on an image helps us as therapists and coaches to understand a persons world view which is a great place to commence work with them.
Let’s take the image below.
This is what I see when I look at this image. Defence. The sword is in the ground and the shield leaning against it. The air is calm the scene is clear. There is no threat but the equipment is there if needed.
Someone else saw that this was war. Preparation ready to fight. Singled out alone. Unsafe. Abandoned. An image invoking fear, dread and general unease.
What do you see?

This are the thinks I explore with my clients when we work on boundaries and the responses people receive when setting them.
It’s why setting boundaries can be so difficult and often painful.

The day you finally set boundaries,

you’ll realize something life-changing:

You were never “too much.”

You were just too present

for people who gave you too little.

And when you stop overgiving,

they’ll call you selfish.

They’ll call you distant.

They’ll even try to guilt you
for choosing yourself.

But boundaries aren’t walls.

They’re gates.

They don’t lock people out

they protect the peace inside.

And the truth?

The ones who loved your access,

not your soul,

will hate your boundaries.

But the ones who truly love you

will never be offended by your “no.”

They’ll honor the version of you

who is no longer drained,

no longer begging,

no longer breaking yourself to please.

Protecting your energy is not betrayal.
It’s the highest form of self-respect.

Released today!
Here is the information about the cards

Introducing Deep Emotions, a unique set of cards created
by UK artist Rob Blackwell. Designed specifically to
enhance therapeutic conversations. These cards emerged
from my experience as a counsellor. Recognising that
traditional emotion cards often don’t resonate equally with
clients. Collaborating with Rob, we aimed to develop
images that reflect a more masculine perspective, allowing
clients to interpret and connect with the art on a personal
level. These cards are crafted using charcoal and graphite,
reflecting Rob's own journey through art therapy.
Unnamed and open to interpretation, these 12 cards invite
clients to select images that resonate with them, fostering
meaningful dialogue and deeper emotional exploration.
This choice not only encourages communication but also
provides therapists with valuable insights into their clients’
feelings, thereby enhancing empathy and understanding in the therapeutic process
