It’s Skin Cancer Awareness Month. To spot skin cancer early, it helps to know how your skin normally looks. That way, you'll notice any changes more easily.

Talk to your doctor if you notice any of these symptoms, or anything else unusual for you. In most cases, it won’t be cancer – but if it is, getting diagnosed early when treatment is more likely to be successful can make all the difference.

A bank holiday weekend, and stepping out of routine, can be particularly difficult when you are grieving. Be gentle with yourself. cruse.org.uk

03/05/2026

Bank holidays can be hard if you're on your own or struggling with money, especially if your social media feeds make you feel like everyone else is having fun. It's healthy to step away from them for a while and keep in mind that what people post is never the full picture of what their lives really look like.

It's also important to remember that your mental health is just as important as your physical health, and there are a number of services available if your mental wellbeing is not as good as it could be. Loneliness and financial worries are some of the biggest contributors to problems like depression and anxiety, and it's very common to feel low or even overwhelmed by them.

If you're struggling you can call 111 at any time of the day or night to speak to a trained mental health advisor for advice and support, including on bank holidays. Don't suffer in silence.

We are so lucky to have wonderful country side on our doorstep

April is Stress Awareness Month.

The death of a loved one is often recognised as the most stressful life event. The emotional, physical and mental impact of grief can be overwhelming.

On our website, we have some short exercises to help manage stress. While they won’t fix grief or stress, they can help you create a brief pocket of calm among the chaos.
