A wonderful trip out in the spring sunshine yesterday for some of our residents to Farnborough Abbey ⛪️

What an amazing tour around the abbey and grounds with Brother Dom, he gave us a full history of the gothic church and the monastery, including the daily running of the monastery. Some of the residents were able to go down into the crypt where we saw the tombs of Napoleon 111 of France, his wife Empress Eugenie and their son Napoleon Prince Imperial, the crypt was established as a memorial for the family after Napoleon 111 was exiled from France 🇫🇷 in 1870

It was an extremely informative trips which some of the residents consider one of their favourite trips so far! Thank you to Brother Dom for looking after us all so well!

If you book a trip it’s by appointment only and we were greeted by Brother Dom at the top of the driveway ⛪️

We would highly recommend this trip to other homes as well as the church and crypt they have their own shop on site, there are steps to get into the abbey and down to the crypt ⛪️

Millers Ark Farm at Fleet Hall certainly had our home buzzing with excitement on Sunday morning 🐐

Some of the residents were already waiting for the animals to arrive while others were woken up by the sound of two donkeys 🫏 6 goats 🐐 4 sheep 🐑 2 pigs 🐷 and lots of ducks 🦆 and chickens 🐔 and not forgetting the beautiful farm dog 🐶 Rupert!

He was actually the star of the show and got an enormous amount of attention from everyone 🐶

It was wonderful to see so many people enjoying such a fantastic interactive experience within the ground of the home 🏡

It certainly made an impression on passers by who couldn’t resist a quick visit and a cuddle with the ducklings 🐥

Perfect weather for a perfect day!

Staff at Fleet Hall were all very supportive and enjoyed the experience as much as the residents and families 🥳

Here at Fleet Hall we hosted a Family Day this Sunday to celebrate the wonderful community we live in and spend some quality time together 🏡

Our vintage tea party was a wonderful success with our home full of family and friends enjoying some nibbles & fizz 🥂

The wonderfully talented Steph Belle put on another great performance for everyone to enjoy 🎶 Steph sang a variety of 1930’s - 1960’s music, something for everyone 🎵

Thank you to the whole team for all the extra work, supporting our events 🥳 it’s great to see the team enjoying themselves too.

We also had a visit from the local Millers Ark Farm, we had goats, sheep, donkeys, pigs, ducks and chickens 🐓

The animals were all very well behaved, well maybe the pigs were a little bit naughty!

The whole morning was a wonderful experience for our residents family and friends, we also invited families from the local nursery Bright Horizons to come and see the animals 🐖

Last week our Client Liaison Manager Melody and General Manager Louise, had the pleasure of attending the grand opening of St Mary’s Day Care Centre which has opened up the road.

We enjoy strengthening our community connections to help the wellbeing of those living with us and in our local community.

We wish the team every success in their wonderful new space and look forward to both hosting events here and taking part in future events together 💙

We had a wonderful trip to the Royal Logistics Corps Museum in Worthy Down 🇬🇧 on Thursday, a lovely sunny day and a good drive down to a fantastic museum.

We were greeted by some very helpful volunteers who were really informative and knowledgeable 🇬🇧 one of our residents who was a Major in the army donated some of his artefacts to the museum 🇬🇧

The resident enjoyed all the fantastic displays and even got to have a go at the shooting range!

Another amazingly well run and presented museum, great facilities and accessibility for wheelchairs 🇬🇧

On Wednesday afternoon Fleet Hall held their very own Art Exhibition and it was great to see the progress the residents have made over the last few months 🖼️

It was hosted by our talented Activities Assistant Kate who organised the Exhibition in the Activities Room showcasing the wonderful art work of the residents and running another art session for people to take part in on the day 🎨

The residents had enrolled on a Watercolour course 🖼️ back in February through the Learning at Libraries incentive to learn new techniques to improve their skills and abilities 🎨

We were joined by Jackie from Learning at Libraries, who tutored the residents throughout the course and encouraged and supported them every step of the way 🎨

Many residents, family and staff popped in to look at their work and spoke to the residents about how much they enjoyed their experience 🖼️

Thank you to Kate for all your commitment and support for the residents who continue to attend her art classes, and to Jackie for teaching the residents new ways of enjoying their creative life at Fleet Hall 🎨
