The past 18 months have been difficult for everyone, but there are a lot of reasons to be optimistic about the future of healthcare.

We’ve been looking at and talking about the next 5 to 10 years in healthcare and we’re excited about what’s to come: huge advances driven by medical innovations and growing digital health capabilities. Personalised healthcare is on everyone’s lips and advancing technology will provide the capability to truly fit the needs of individuals. We’re going to see more precision medicines, as we move away from a one-size-fits-all approach, and step towards a world where clinicians can more accurately predict which treatments will work best for different people. Can you imagine a time when we will have access to exactly the right treatment, at the right time, based on a pinpoint diagnosis, in a frictionless service?

What are you feeling optimistic about – what has got you excited about the future of health?

How important is optimism in communications?

We talk a lot about compelling solutions and truly believe optimistic communications can help behaviour change. It can be important to talk about pressing problems and challenges but solutions-oriented communications not only make audiences feel better, but opens them up to hearing what they can do to help, to effect change.

We start with the aspiration, consider the reality (the current situation), weave in a large dose of inspiration (the insights) and develop a strategy and measurable tactical plan from there – enabling us to measure the positive impact. Giving people an idea of what they can do, or what their role is, is very important to successful and compelling communications.

It’s Optimistic October – did you know that optimism could extend your life span by 11 to 15%, says a study in Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.

Researchers also found that optimists had a greater chance of living to age 85 or beyond largely because they were more likely to engage in healthier habits.

Being optimistic is associated with lower blood sugar and cholesterol. In addition, that positive thinking may boost your immunity and reduce your chances of infection and cancer!

McLandburgh Wilson was pondering such weighty questions when he explained optimism in 1915:

“Twixt the optimist and pessimist
The difference is droll
The optimist sees the doughnut
But the pessimist sees the hole.”

Food for thought. Do you see the doughnut or the hole?
How can we take a big dose of optimism and apply this to communications?

Optimism - an attitude reflecting a belief or hope that the outcome of some specific endeavour, or outcomes in general, will be positive, favourable, and desirable.

We are an optimistic bunch at Resonant Group and we are loving Optimistic October!

We are committed to growth and therefore always setting goals – client goals, company goals, group goals, team goals and of course personal goals. Goals help us focus, challenge and achieve more, be it for work or in our personal lives.

Making goals achievable and ensuring that you have a few short term as well as longer-term, more ambitious goals helps us feel we're making progress. It doesn't matter if your goal for the day is something really small, the important thing is to give yourself the opportunity to feel like you've achieved something and to celebrate that!

Check out this calendar full of ideas to help you think about how you can put this into practice.

Any excuse for cake!

This week Resonant celebrates six years since we moved into our fantastic office space. Team members past and present have played a crucial role in how it looks, and importantly it’s the team that continues to make it a welcoming environment to work.

Resonant Reunited! On Saturday, the Resonant Group met in the local park for the first annual family picnic. The weather was great, and it was lovely to be reunited with everyone from the team and meet partners, children – and dogs! We’re already looking forward to the next one!

Today is National Cycle to Work Day!

Many of our team work remotely, but that doesn’t stop us from getting out on our bikes and taking part – here are a few snaps of our pedal power fans!

Cycling is a great way to get active, helping to keep you physically fit and healthy.

It can also be a great form of stress relief, releasing endorphins (happy vibes) which help boost mood and mental health. Plus it's something fun to do with all the family too!

Each month Ecologi plants trees on our behalf in order to offset our carbon use - just one of the ways that we work towards being a climate-positive company.

Over the last 6 months, we have offset 84.79T of carbon waste and planted over 1,163 trees!

I start my day… My alarm goes off sometime between 7 and 8, depends on how tired I am. I hit the button on the coffee maker but feed the cats first, because I know what’s good for me, then grab my mug and go dash around my island on Animal Crossing. Like many others, […]
