🍂 5 Yoga Poses to Open Your Neck, Shoulders & Chest 🍂

As autumn settles in, we naturally curl forward, hunching against the cold, sitting at desks, or wrapping up on the sofa. This can leave the neck, shoulders and chest tight and heavy. These 5 gentle poses help create space, ease tension, and invite more warmth + breath into the body:

✨ 1. Neck Release – melts away stiffness from chilly winds & screen time.
✨ 2. Side Bend – stretches the ribs & side body, opening space for deeper breathing.
✨ 3. Puppy Pose – softens the shoulders while gently lifting the heart.
✨ 4. Sphinx Pose – strengthens the back body & opens the chest.
✨ 5. Supported Fish (on a cushion/bolster) – expansive chest opener to counter rounding.

💛 Save this post for when you need to ease autumn tightness, boosting circulation, and lifting your mood as the days grow shorter.

Cosy season has officially arrived 🎃🍁🍂☕️
The air is cooler, the evenings are darker, and it can feel tempting to skip rolling out the mat. But this shift in seasons is actually the perfect moment to lean into your practice.

If you’re feeling the autumn slowdown, try softening your routine: pop on your warm socks and favourite jumper, choose a gentler class, and let yourself stay wrapped up while still nourishing body and soul.

Here are some of our favourite cosy season classes to help you slow down and reset:

We are insanely excited to announcing a new series of classes starting in September…

Yoga Mamas and Little Ones

This is a gentle, supportive yoga class designed specifically for postnatal mothers. The focus is on rebuilding core strength, improving stability, releasing tension, and enhancing overall well-being after birth.

Babies are welcome to attend and remain close to their mothers during the session, creating a relaxed, baby-friendly environment. However, the yoga is exclusively for the mothers — there are no yoga exercises for the babies themselves.

Classes are suitable from your postnatal check-up (usually 6–8 weeks after birth) and are open to mums until their babies are confidently walking.

Friday 5th September - 10th October 11am- 12 £70 for 6 week course

And although we are loving the sunshine, it’s important to be mindful when moving in this heat 🔥

When rolling out your mat, please remember to:
💧 stay hydrated - bring a water bottle and sip regularly
❄️ take it slower or pause to help you stay cool
👚 wear light, loose fitting, breathable clothing
🧘🏻‍♀️ don’t push it - sometimes to heat can make us feel more flexible, try not to push beyond your normal range of movement

Heading off on holiday soon? Don’t let your practice take a break! ☀️☀️☀️

We’re delighted to remind you that all our memberships include unlimited online classes and on-demand yoga! This means you can keep up your practice from wherever you are, whether it’s a quiet corner of your holiday cottage, a sunny balcony, or even a serene spot on the beach (Wi-Fi permitting!).

Tips for Online Yoga While You’re Away:

Create Your Space: Even a small clear area is enough. Move furniture, roll out a towel or travel mat, and make it your mini studio.
Improvise your Props: Rolled up towels can replace bolsters and dressing gown belts make great straps.
Silence & Focus: Try to find a time and place where you won’t be interrupted. Earbuds can help block out ambient noise.
Embrace the Imperfect: It doesn’t have to be perfect. The goal is to move, breathe, and connect with yourself, even if it’s just for 15 minutes.
Connect Live: If your schedule and internet allow, join one of our live online classes for that familiar Elements community feel!
Enhance Your Sound: For a richer, more immersive audio experience, consider connecting a Bluetooth speaker. This can be much better than the built-in speakers on your phone or tablet devices, especially for hearing subtle cues clearly.
