Routine vaccination against MenB was introduced in 2015 for babies and young children, so children born after 1 May 2015 will already have received the vaccine at their 8 weeks, 12 weeks and 1-year appointments. And is not currently available on the NHS for adults.

Due to the recent outbreak in Kent, we are awaiting further guidance from Public Health England, but at this time we are unable to offer the MenB vaccination.

For older children/young adults, the routine vaccine is Meningitis ACWY, which is usually given in school (age14-18). If you missed this vaccination, we can offer an appointment for anyone up to age 25 For the Men ACWY.

We will update you if anything changes

How meningitis is spread..
The viruses and bacteria that cause meningitis can be spread through:
💉sneezing
💉coughing
💉kissing
The infection is usually spread by people who carry these viruses or bacteria in their nose or throat, but are not ill themselves.

Who's most at risk?
Anyone can potentially get meningitis, but it's more common in:
💉babies and young children
💉teenagers and young adults
💉older people
💉people with a weak immune system – for example, those with HIV and those having chemotherapy
You can reduce the risk of getting meningitis by ensuring all your vaccinations are up to date.

🩵🩵MEASLES cases are rising, Please vaccinate your children 🩵🩵
A total of 130 measles cases have been confirmed in England so far this year, with 34 cases reported in the past week, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has said.1

The agency warned that some children have had to be admitted to hospital, and has urged parents to ensure their children get vaccinated.

So far this year 103 cases have been reported in January and 27 in February (as of 16 February). Because of the time lag involved when confirming cases through laboratory testing, the true number is likely higher, the UKHSA said.
