Having already enjoyed a visit to meet the team and see the wonderful Strive Fleetwood, Debbie from The Mount View Practice escorted a group of student doctors to discover what's happening at The HUB Fleetwood. We were delighted to introduce them to the partners based in the building.
Following a chat in the Healthier Fleetwood Centre about the many opportunities available, it was off to meet Julie and Vicki from the Fylde Coast Macmillan Information and Support Service. They shared feedback from their clients ... how much a facility in Fleetwood was making a difference, avoiding the need to travel to Blackpool or further.
The team at Volunteer Centre Wyre are also seeing the benefit of working in the community, welcoming clients for a huge range of support right here in Fleetwood.
After a whistle-stop tour of the NHS Outpatients, Regenda Homes, The Pantry Food Bank - Fleetwood, Seasiders and Fleetwood Learning Centres and a look at vacant spaces on the upper floors it was back to the Heart of the Hub cafe and One Fylde.
By chance Kelly from Coach and Shine CIC was just about to start her Becoming More Me wellbeing group. Some of the members joined the conversation to share their stories and thoughts on how healthcare and community should, and is, working in partnership in Fleetwood.
We're looking forward to welcoming many more student doctors as part of their training and introduction to communities.
