Tomorrow (12th March) is 2020.

Many areas around the Country now have staff and volunteers directing residents to groups, activities and events in their community to support better physical and mental health.

It's about combining the support of professional and NHS services with the great work done by the voluntary sector and of course in Fleetwood we have a fantastic network of opportunities!

The local GP surgeries are building a team of social prescribers with knowledge of what's available in Fleetwood, how to get involved and advice on other services that residents may need to lead healthier and happier lives.

Many of these activities are listed on our website at https://www.healthierfleetwood.co.uk/whats-on/ including singing, dancing, arts, sports, coffee clubs but there's much, much more out there!

Wendy is a social prescriber in Fleetwood and she'll be at The Mount View Practice tomorrow from 10am until mid-afternoon to pass on information and contact details.

Next Saturday 7th March is International Women's Day. Fleetwood Promenade parkrun will be hosted by an all female team of volunteers, so bring a female friend/colleague along and introduce them to parkrun! Purple is the internationally recognised colour for the day - so let's make a sea of purple at Fleetwood!! DFYB 😃

The 'New You Lounge' brings together several activities supporting residents wellbeing.

Held on Thursdays at YMCA Lofthouse Building the session includes a relaxed art group in the morning from 10am to around noon, peer support and boxercise with Active Lancashire from 1pm.

New You Central and North Lancashire is a programme designed to affect positive changes of behaviour by connecting residents and encouraging them to engage with groups and activities.

It's for anyone who feels their wellbeing will benefit from being involved whether that be because you feel isolated, have mental health issues or are in recovery.
