A trip down memory lane... 🏫

On Tuesday afternoon, Catherine took us back to school for a nostalgic "Return to the Classroom" session. We brought in our old memorabilia and spent the afternoon sharing stories about our school days.

We even tested our minds with some maths skills - and turns out, you never truly forget your times tables! It was a fun and memorable afternoon for everyone.

Thursday at Rhiwlas we acknowledged VJ Day with a party afternoon. 🎉

We enjoyed party games and party treats along with our lucky dip. It was a delight to welcome the Deputy Mayor of Flint Elaine and her Consort Val. They told us they had enjoyed a lovely afternoon and look forward to coming back. They will be made very welcome! 🤗

In the morning, some of our ladies made the most of the sunshine, enjoying tea and biscuits in the garden. ☀️🍪

Our Rhiwlas store was open for business, bringing back memories of old brands, corner shops, and the arrival of supermarkets! 🛒

Yesterday we celebrated a truly special milestone here at Rhiwlas Care Home, Bill’s 95th birthday! 🥳

Born on August 10, 1930, our legendary Bill marked the occasion surrounded by his loving family, laughter, and plenty of cake. 🎂

Wishing you many more happy years ahead, Bill, you’re an inspiration to us all.

Thank you to everyone who attended our wonderful Summer Fete on Saturday, all funds raised will go directly to our Residents' Fund. 🎉

Congratulations to all our prize winners, with a special shoutout to the winner of the "sweets in a jar" contest. They guessed the exact number of 497 and donated their prize to our lovely staff.

We also want to extend a big thank you to Levi and Mia Wilson for volunteering their time to assist with the stalls.

A brilliant Games Time Afternoon on Tuesday. 🎲 We had with a tombola, where everyone won a prize and our memory quiz was a great success, especially the "finish the phrase" and TV advert slogans. It was a lovely way to enjoy our Residents' sense of humour and personalities.

On Monday afternoon, we opened the Rhiwlas Curiosity Box and explored the wonderful treasures inside. As we looked through the collection, it sparked many lovely memories and stories shared among residents.

One story that had us all laughing was about a pair of beautifully handmade school trousers — with the pins accidentally left in by Mum! 🎁🧷

We’re already looking forward to adding more memories to the box and opening it again soon.
