This year began with a very sweet service this morning. The family didn’t feel that a big service at the crematorium was fitting, as the gentleman liked to keep things calm and low key.
They opted for a smaller scale service, and used the funeral directors in house chapel. There was a small gathering of family and the service was gentle and calm, but with a bit of rock music - just what the deceased would have wanted.
Every Celebration of Life Ceremony I lead is unique, just as every person is unique. From dancing in the chapel, to the gentle calm that was required today.
At the turn of the year I not only look back on the many different lives honoured in 2025, but I look towards continuing to make a difference this year.
Celebrating, remembering and honouring - that’s what I do. 💛

When a family has to plan a funeral from a distance, it can be incredibly difficult. The feeling of disconnection when not able to join together in person.
There generous words are from a family who, scattered across the UK, worked together with me to curate a beautiful service. Despite the distance, we created a very special farewell which was my honour to lead on the day. 💛

A gorgeous message to end the week with. What a privilege to be able to help this family at a difficult time and make sure their loved one had a beautiful farewell.
Losing someone at this time of year holds additional challenges and feelings of grief, I’m glad to be able to alleviate some of that pressure. 💛

This thoughtful poem was read by a family member at one of my services this week. It is a beautiful tribute when someone wishes to speak at a Celebration of Life service. But sometimes, if the day feels too much or speaking feels too nerve wracking, a loved one can ask someone else to speak for them.
It’s lovely hearing people pay tribute, and always an honour to speak in their behalf.

Last week the wonderful Father Adrian and I lead the Light a Candle memorial service at Flintshire Crematorium. Thanks to the wonderful staff there for hosting a beautiful evening, giving families a space to remember and honour their loved ones. 🕯️🎄

🕯️Flintshire Crematorium & Memorial park - a really beautiful location to say a final farewell. I’m delivering the Christmas Address as part of their Remembrance Service tomorrow evening. There are opportunities for families to light a candle in honour of their loved one, as we remember those we have said goodbye to in the last twelve months. 🕯️
