As part of our CC in Bloom we created some beautiful displays for the dining room tables. Residents had a a choice of some gorgeous colours of silk flowers to use and as they picked their favourites creations were made. The dining room now looks full of colour and everyone can enjoy looking at them during meal times 🌺

Our CC in Bloom 2026 project is well underway. 🧑‍🌾💜

As we start to plant up our Wellington Boots and our garden the colour and vibe is changing every day. We are aiming for every resident in the home to plant up their very own Wellington Boot making this part of the project very inclusive. Residents have the opportunity to choose their welly, paint it if they choose and then plant it up with a variety of flowers and plants. Fred planted his one this week and Roger planted up some pots. Summer should look spectacular at Baycroft Flitwick 💐🏡

On Friday the sun was shining so we decided to take our Mind and Motion session in the garden.🏡💜

We thought we would kick off the session with the warm up exercises created by Bailey from Be Great Fitness and then the session started with stretching, movement followed by a cool down section. The morning ended with a short meditation session and a cool drink. 🍹😊

Our Mind and Motion sessions combine physical exercise with mindfulness to encourage a balanced approach to health and wellbeing.✨🧘

We will be holding our Annual Dog Show on Saturday 30th May from 2pm to 4pm and this year we are raising money for our Residents Comfort Fund and the National Welfare Trust.

As well as raising money for the trust we are collecting pet items for our Doggie Shoe Boxes. If you can help in any way then please drop off any of the items listed below to our reception:

Ray a 3 year old Greyhound - cuddly toys, blankets, long lasting chews, balls, squeaky toys, treat packets and tinned hotdogs🦴🐶

Missy a 10 year old DSH cat - cat nip, cat nip spray, toys, treats, tuna, igloo bed, cat litter and wet cat food🐈😺

Luca a 5 year old Norfolk terrier - balls, squeaky toys, treats, cuddly toys and hot dogs🐶🧸

Bambi a 10 month old DSH cat - dry cat food, blankets, tuna, cat treats, igloo bed, cat litter, pooper scooper and cat nip😺💜

Ralph a 4 year old crossbreed - balls, tennis balls, toy, treats and hot dogs🐶🎾

All of these animals are waiting to be adopted so if anyone wishes to give them a lovely home then please contact the Bedfordshire National Welfare Trust.

🏆🎂 The winner of the Country Court Bake-Off Competition is... Charlotte Legge from Castor Lodge Care Home! 🎂🏆

Charlotte wowed the judges with her incredible campervan-themed birthday cake, featuring four delicious layers: Coffee & Walnut, Lemon Drizzle, Red Velvet and Victoria Sponge. Inspired by an era loved by residents, the ambitious design showcased exceptional creativity, skill and attention to detail.

This year's competition celebrated the amazing birthday cakes our teams lovingly create for residents and colleagues, making special occasions even more memorable. Judged on presentation, taste, innovation and baking skill, the standard was incredibly high.

A huge congratulations also goes to our fantastic finalists:
⭐ Marzena Turowska from Tallington Lodge Care Home with her resident-inspired Raspberry & Pistachio Cake
⭐ Victoria Bullingham from our Central Services Payroll Team with her beautifully decorated Lemon Drizzle Cake

💚 It’s been a fantastic Wear It Green for Mental Health Day today! 💚
Both our residents and staff got involved, bringing lots of fun, laughter, and an amazing splash of green throughout the home! 🍀✨
A huge congratulations to our two fabulous winners:
🌟 Our wonderful host Sammie, who truly stole the show with her incredible head-to-toe green look, complete with a stunning green headpiece and even matching green shoes! Residents were absolutely blown away by her creativity and spirit. 💚
🌟 And our lovely Neal, who proudly took home the residents’ prize with his smart and stylish green outfit from head to toe. Looking sharp and spreading positivity all day long! 🍀👏
