Ready to get back to it after a long break. I always get an instant hit of calm in my soul when I’m in my wee room, music on, warm and cosy, waiting for my lovely ladies to arrive and begin the relaxation. My happy place ❤️🤰🏻

Hello lovely people, that’s me getting ready to come back to work after my operation, thank you all again for the patience whilst I’ve been closed. I have some existing bookings to honour, and will be taking it easy on myself as I adjust back into both jobs (I do still have some healing to do and expect to be quite tired initially) so I will only be opening limited appointments for August. However I will try to be flexible and adjust my plans if needs must, so please get in touch if you would like to discuss upcoming availability ❤️

**Scar treatment update**
Seeing as my scar therapy treatment has become so popular, I thought I’d add another wee update of my own scar at 6 months post op (please ignore the dodgy tan marks from my recent holidays 😂).
I started treating it at 6 weeks post op, doing massage daily, using rosehip oil and silicon strips to keep it hydrated between sessions. Those of you who have seen me for treatment will know how much I harper on about consistency and hydration being key!
I stopped using silicon at 4 months but continue with daily oil, and massage every 1-3 days for 10 mins at bedtime or after a shower.
I think the results speak for themselves, delighted with the progress. Fading nicely and no lumpy or ropey areas along it, nice and soft and flat.
I also have very minimal numbness now, almost completely back to full feeling along the whole scar apart from one area in the middle that had a funny reaction to the surgical tapes (the red mark above the scar in the first photo).
Hopefully this will encourage anyone who’s unsure if scar therapy is really worth it ❤️

***Closure date***

I now have a date for my next operation and will be closed from 30th June.
Anyone who has appointments already arranged for after this will be contacted asap to rearrange for earlier if wishes. I am likely to be off for a significant length of time so will aim to see as many people as possible prior to finishing, and will add as much availability as I can to ensure all get seen who would like to.
Please just get in touch to discuss booking, and apologises again for any inconvenience the closure will cause.

I always feel like one of the most important aspects of the treatments I offer is not actually the physical benefits, but the time and space I can offer ladies to talk and open up, about anything they want to. Pregnancy, infertility, loss, birth trauma, relationship/family troubles, mental health issues, I’ve had conversations about all these things and more in my clinic room. And I always feel so happy when women say at the end of an appointment, or message me later to tell me how much it helped, how much lighter and more “themselves” they feel after a good old blether whilst we are doing a treatment.
I hope all my ladies, past present and future, will always see my cosy wee clinic room as a safe space ❤️

🌟Join the conversation & share in the comments - What 1 thing you have done this week to help improve your mental wellbeing & support your own mental health? 🌟

This we continue to encourage open dialogue, fight stigma & offer peer support to those who need it.

Our mental health is just as important as our physical health. This is particularly important during pregnancy & postnatally as 1 in 5 will struggle with their mental health during this time.

Join us on Mondays at 10am for our family friendly health walks or Wednesdays 10am-12pm for Mum Days sessions for a chat with our lovely peer-supporters.

We are here to listen and signpost if needed and some of our volunteers have lived experience of maternal mental health so can share in their understanding of what you’re going through.

Apologies, I’ve had a few messages etc over the last few days that I’ve not replied to yet. I’m away on my holidays again, in Tenerife doing even more birthday celebrating (not milking turning 40 at all 😂) with my fellow midwives. We are back late Tuesday night so I will reply to all messages/enquiries on Wednesday ❤️

Just an update, something unexpected that I need to share.
Unfortunately I’ve had the news that I need another urgent operation on my abdomen. I’m not sure exactly when it’s going to happen yet but due to the nature of the situation, it’ll be sooner rather than later within the next 12 weeks.
Hopefully I’ll have plenty notice so I can let those with booked appointments know in a timely way, but thought I best pop an update on so people are aware that I may have to cancel or rearrange at short notice. I hate the thought of letting anyone down but as I’m on the emergency list, when I get told to go, I have to go.
Thanks for understanding all you fabulous peeps and I’ll keep you posted x
