Slowdown Sunday Soothing Sacred Sounds Series

Many gentle small pauses throughout the day can work wonders to reset and help build more capacity especially when we feel overwhelmed by our daily schedules, running on empty or the endless to-do lists.

Feeling burnt out generally.

In this video I am using a Shruti box to create a droning sound using the C and G notes alongside the Om Namaha shivaya mantra.

Creating a resonant soundscape to soothe and settle your nervous system and to build a sense of calmness and clarity within your field in sixty seconds.

It’s important not to underestimate how beneficial even small pockets of time throughout the day can be

Let me know how you felt afterwards.

If you would like to experience a sound bath I do regular sessions in Folkestone.

Please get in touch if you would like to experience a 1-1 sound or somatic session too.

Info on dates and to book are in my bio or here at

When your mind is spiralling out of control with ruminating thoughts or you are waking up numerous times with worries it is very often a stress response caused by burnout. This can manifest as a range of symptoms including overwhelm, anxiety, insomnia, irritability, exhaustion, numbness, resignation and depression too.

Juggling a perpetual to-do list, whether at work or at home. Feeling weighed down by responsibility, obligations and expectations.

These can quickly tip over into overwhelm if we don’t have enough capacity or agency. Leading to a sense of constriction in time and space and often movement (freeze response).

Navigating the world at this moment of chaos and significant, rapid change can also be extremely challenging on many levels and can feed info overwhelm and fuel burnout.

At these points we often dissociate from our body and jump into our heads. It’s a deeply engrained programme within us.

Somatic enquiry offers a very gentle and tender space to help you re-establish a deeper connection to your embodied state.

An invitation to slow down, regulate and witness what is arising in somatic awareness, with the support of movement, breathing, sound and shared compassionate curiosity.

For anyone interested in reconnecting more fully to your body’s wisdom and wanting support for a myriad of burnout symptoms, I offer an initial introductory session at 1/3rd off for £50.

This session is a chance to experience somatic enquiry for yourself, understand how it works and feel the benefits of reconnecting with your body’s wisdom.

Further information about these sessions can be found on my website here or Please drop me a message if you would like to know more or to book a session.

Talking about how sound can somatically support release and metabolising of emotions through the body. A helpful burnout support kit.

Instead of going into our minds and creating the loops of what we think the story behind the emotion is. (That can lead us into overthinking, rumination and overwhelm if left to spiral). We move into the landscape of the body instead.

Feel where the emotional charge is in the body. Offer it a vocal expression by feeling deeply into what it’s authentic sound is in the moment to help support its release.

Offer conscious breath to your body.

Offer another sound to bring in that can often be the opposite of the emotion that has just been moved through your body.

In the video I was exploring the energy of feeling stuck and compacted in my stomach. Emotion of frustration.

I offered back a sound of joy and openness

It’s likely the mind will feel an edge and the inner critic/cynic may be loud. But try not to give it any oxygen.

Freedom can be found on the other side. Freedom of expression. Freedom of authenticity. Freedom to support your body in times of emotional triggering instead of looping up into the mind.

Small gestures of kindness towards yourself in times of overwhelm.

Pockets of presence through the gift of somatic awareness and the voice.

Let me know how you get on

These practices are just a small part of how a somatic session could evolve. It’s an invitation.

I use tuning forks during my 1-1 sound and somatic sessions. It’s a quick way to feel more aligned and build more coherence within your field and body.

Do get in touch if you would like a 1-1 session and be supported and guided through somatic release with vocal toning.

The most common feedback I get following a sound bath or 1-1 is how well people sleep after a session.

Sound therapy helps to calm the mind and regulate the nervous system. This helps with a whole range of symptoms that relate to burnout of which insomnia is a major one.

Despite feeling exhausted the mind very often can’t slow down and continues to loop and ruminate.

The body cant unwind. It’s still operating on a heightened state of alert and energy.

Sound softens the monkey mind. The endless chitchat. The internal monologues. The anxiety and the to do lists. And with that the body feels more ease and comfort and capability to rest, relax and digest.

Sound baths are in essence a very simple experience. You just turn up and receive. You don’t have to do anything.

Let the profound medicine of the sacred sounds work support you on your healing journey.

Slowdown Sunday Soothing Sacred Sounds Series

Offer yourself a gentle pause to stop, a few conscious breaths, and allow the sounds of the singing bowls to bring you back into more alignment and coherence in heart, body and mind.

When we are stuck in a feeling of burnout, overwhelm or stress we can become ”lost “ in our heads, disconnected from our bodies and a general sense of helplessness.

It’s surprising what benefit an intentional brief pause can bring even in the midst of overwhelm.

Even a commitment to find small pockets of time throughout the day to stop, resource and reset can work wonders for building your resilience, deepening your capacity and helping to regulate your nervous system.

The sounds of the singing bowls weave and entwine to help you unwind , calm down and reset. Even 60 seconds can benefit.

Let me know how you felt afterwards .

Private Sound Bath
Great way to spend a Saturday morning offering a private sound bath to four lovely people from the entrepreneurs organisation uk who were spending a networking weekend away in Lenham, Kent

None of them had experienced a sound bath before. The feedback was great. Feelings of relaxation and clarity. One lady Journeying with a horse and connection with her father who died recently.

Thanks to James for organising the event and for everyone who attended.

I am getting more offers to do external sound baths recently which I am very grateful for. I am available for sessions in Kent, the south East and London.

Private sound bath sessions are also available from my beautiful sound studio in Folkestone that can comfortably accommodate 15 people.

Please get in touch if you would be interested in having a private sound bath.

Take a deep breath and allow the sounds of the 40inch Nepalese Singing Gong and B Love flumi No5 wash over you.

Accompanied by the rain drops on the roof outside.

Sounds offering support on your journey back home. Nourishment for the soul.

Helping with Burnout and many of its symptoms. Including anxiety, exhaustion, overwhelm, insomnia and overthinking. By calming the mind and helping to regulate your nervous system.

A soothing stop to reflect, reset and slow down. Give yourself a gentle pause and allow the frequencies to dance through your body whenever you are feeling overwhelmed.

“Let it in
Let it out
Let it go
Letting go of letting go.
Let it be”
