We have had a very busy day here today. Lisa managed to get through a good list of clients this morning and everyone walked away feeling fabulous, as always :)
The workmen have been a little quieter this week but they are getting everything done so quickly, you'll have to excuse some of the background of the photos. We are in the middle of the lounge renovation at the moment.
This afternoon, we had Marty come and sing for us. He always goes down well with the residents here as he also plays an electric violin and has such an amazing range of songs for us. His last song had not only residents but staff watering at the eyes too.

Our Garden is starting to bloom. There are bits of colour everywhere. It looks beautiful.

We have had a busy few days here at Brampton Lodge. the renovations are coming on so quickly and we are all starting to forget what the old dining room/lounges looked like!
Yesterday, we had our wonderful hairdresser with us in the morning and she managed to get through a long list of clients! Everyone walked away feeling fabulous as always :) In the afternoon, we had a new singer. The lovely Learna and the residents all agreed that she was fabulous! She looked fabulous in her 'Cadbury' dress the residents all commented on, and they stated that her singing was outstanding. Learna sang a mix of Musical classics with an Abba medley at the end and had all the residents singing and clapping along, even the staff joined in :)
This morning, some residents chose to have their nails repainted and we chatted throughout. Patsie was very distracted as very intrigued with the renovations and loves watching the progress daily. We have had some one-on-one time with some residents and set some personal goals for the month which you will see updates on in the future.

We’ve had a great afternoon meeting the creatures from Zoo Lab. Jack is so knowledgeable about the insects he looks after, and he always knows the answers to our questions. Our residents love meeting Shelley the snail, George the python. Salt the Gerbil, Betty the Gecho. Jack also brought a tarantula, and some stick insects. Even our workmen wanted to join in. It was a super afternoon.

We have had a wonderful day filled with love and laughter. We started our day by all gathering in the lounge for coffee and homemade cupcakes that Katie very kindly made for the residents, while listening to all of our favourite love songs. There were vanilla sponge & vanilla sponge with chocolate chips. It's safe to say they went down a treat! This afternoon, we had a visit from Deefa the dog :) He is always a big hit, and the residents love having a visit from him. Deefa had been to a hydrotherapy session before coming to us, so he was a little sleepy and very happy to chill, on the resident's feet, once he had been fussed over and given a treat :)
We also had another dog visiting at the same time. Sheila's son & wife came to visit from Hastings and brought their lovely dog Penny with them. She thoroughly enjoyed the fuss and especially a rich tea biscuit as a treat! When the dogs saw one another, they were very excited but managed to sit well for a photo together!

We have had a lovely, busy day here today at Brampton Lodge. I don't think we've ever had so many visitors in one day.
Yvonne had a visit from her daughter & son-in law, Marion's cousin had her weekly visit with her, Beryl's son and daughter-in-law came to spend the morning with her. Peggy's son and his wife came to see her, and June's daughter took her out to the hairdresser's. Pam R had a visit with a friend this morning and her son this afternoon. Imelda's sister has been in to see her, Pastie's son-in-law visited this afternoon and Elizabeth had a visit from her daughter. Pet L's grandson popped in with some treats for her and Joy's son came to visit with his doggy, which all staff love having cuddles with.
We spent the morning having a pamper and painting the residents' nails. Patsie has had a break from having varnish on her nails, so was very pleased to have a colour on them again.
This afternoon, unfortunately, our singer was poorly, so we spent time listening to music and chatting/planning upcoming events. Lots of residents are very excited about the renovation and how quickly it is coming along and the upcoming minibus outings. We are looking forward to some better weather so we can get out a lot more!

We had our Monday trip to Morrisons this morning. Pam, David and Yvonne had a lovely bit of cake, and a cuppa, whilst putting the world to rights. Afterwards we had a browse around the store and did a bit of shopping. This afternoon we had our college placements playing board games with the residents, and others had their nails trimmed and painted. The residents had a few visitors too!
Joys son and grandchildren came to see her, her friend John came in too. Barbara had a visit from her son-in-law Glen. And Janet had a visit from her daughter Joanna, and they chatted in Janet’s room!
