We have had a chill but very busy day here today! We have had lots of visitors or residents going out. Pam went out with her sister for coffee this morning, Patsie had a visit from her son Tony, Pam had a visit from her son John, and Pat went out to a wedding for the day! We have been discussing our next minibus trips, and the residents are very much looking forward to them. We've got a great variety of destinations to go to and cannot wait to tell you all about them!
This afternoon, we had a craft session. Some residents chose to colour some stained glass window mandala stickers, and Gloria helped to cut out some shapes for our Christmas decoration making we have planned for next week :) We hope you've all had a fab start to your weekends!
We had a visit from one of our managers, Katie, with her baby boy yesterday. Elizabeth loved having cuddles with him and we thought we'd share the gorgeous photo we got

We just wanted to remind our families about the family quiz night on Friday 28th November at 7pm. You need to have a maximum of 6 in a team. If you’d like to take part in the quiz but don’t have a team, we can add you to a team to make up the numbers. Each person pays £1 to enter. The money collected will go to charity. Each team will need a name. Please let Katie and Dyane know if you are attending so we can cater for the correct amount of people. Let them know by phone 01303 258227. Or you can email:wellbeing@bramptonlodge.com.
Please let us know by Monday 24th November.

It was a freezing Friday morning but at Brampton we were all warm and toasty. We had pre lunch drinks and chatted about the weather. This afternoon the sun made an appearance and we had lots of visitors. Marion and Michael were taken to the Battle of Britain cafe by their daughter. They even had a drive along the coast afterwards. Barbara had her son Paul visit. Joys daughter Denise came in to see her. David’s H had his sister visit him, and Maureen had her daughter and son-in-law visit. This afternoon we had our Friday afternoon quiz. The residents did great, they are so knowledgeable. Well done everyone

Another busy day today here at Brampton Lodge. We started our day with Lisa here, cutting and styling everyone's hair. A few residents have chosen new styles and chosen to keep their hair a bit longer, which is lovely to see :) We had a full list of happy clients once Lisa had left. Teresa joined us for lunch today and is fast becoming a popular member of our community here. This afternoon, Ray came to sing for us. Again, he is a firm favourite and we always have a full lounge, we even have to add more chairs to git everybody in! Lots of residents have had visitors throughout the day, Marion's cousin visited this morning, David went out shopping with his son, Joy's son came in this afternoon with his puppy, June had her friends visit and as they left one of her daughters arrived too. We hope you've all had a wonderful day :)

We have had another busy day today. We started our day by going to The Turner Contemporary Gallery. Unfortunately, part of the exhibitions were closed, so we had a coffee and then looked at what was open. Pam found some wonderful art for sale in the gift shop and some fascinating books. The weather and winds were so powerful that the waves were crashing against the building and one even got Trevor as he parked the van. We found a lovely place on the seafront to have some lunch, the food was delicious and we watched a lady painting Christmas murals on the windows while we ate. We then made our way home.
The residents indoors had a visit from Deefa the dog, he went to see a few residents in their rooms and had cuddles in the lounge.
We also had Kerry here this afternoon, and the residents joined to paint some Christmas pictures. They also added some personalised gonks :) We have been discussing the next few art classes in preparation for Christmas.

We have been out again with some residents today, this time we went to The Canterbury Cat Tails Café. Janet, Iris & Yvonne joined us today. We started our day there and had something to eat. The ladies all chose a homemade pastry and said it was very yummy. The cats were all very well looked after and extremely well behaved; the residents commented on just how well behaved and beautifully kept they were. While some of the cats slept or were curled up in front of the fire, we got to stroke the ones wandering around, and they loved the fuss. Their coats were extremely soft and shiny and Janet kept saying how beautiful they all were. We went and did some shopping after, Yvonne brought herself some clothes from a few different shops and although we looked for some shoes for Janet & Iris we couldn't find any they liked. We stopped for a cuppa and to warm up a little and Janet chose a chocolate brownie which she said was delicious, we all had a drink. We had a look around the Christmas market stalls before we made our way home. We think everyone will sleep well tonight :)

We have had a very busy, very wonderful start to our week :) This morning we took some residents out for a drive. We headed towards Lympne & Westernhanger to have a look at the Castles. We spotted a big boat in the grounds of Westernhanger Castle and are going to look into it's history. We then headed towards Hythe and along the seafront for our journey home. We couldn't believe how calm and still the sea was. We returned for lunch and then took another group of residents out shopping this afternoon. We went to the Ashford Outlet. We stopped in many shops but the residents all brought themselves something in M&S and the Lindt shop. Staff may have got themselves some chocolates too :) We stopped for a cuppa and a cake before having a look around the last of the shops. We then headed back home just in time for supper!

We have had a wonderfully busy day here today :) Lisa is back from her holiday in Portugal and had a long list of clients to get through this morning. She told the residents all about her holiday while she did their hair, not that it made us jealous or anything :) This afternoon, Jade came to sing for us and put on a 'Wartime show'. The residents loved it, they sang along to most of the songs, and all commented just how wonderful Jade looked in her uniform! They all sat chatting once she had left, commenting on the show and her performance. We have had lots of visitors throughout the day. June S went to her hairdresser's with her daughter, Pam's son came to visit her this afternoon, Maureen's sister and her husband visited this afternoon and they joined us to listen to Jade sing. Imelda had a friend visit and they chatted in her room. June's C's daughter came to see her and Joy's son popped in too with his dog this afternoon.

Another busy day here today at Brampton Lodge. We started the day by all gathering in the lounge this morning to watch the Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance with some scrummy cakes and a drink. The residents all loved watching the Festival and were very impressed with the music and information throughout. Once this had finished, the residents remained in the lounge chatting until lunch time. Afterwards, some residents had their nails done, David and Pat just wanted a file and reshape, and Yvonne had a repaint while we waited for Victoria to come and sing for us. When Victoria arrived, dressed for the occasion with Poppy's in her hair and a beautiful red dress, the lounge quickly filled up again. Victoria put on a wonderful show as always

Michelle very kindly made the residents some Poppy cupcakes. They are vanilla sponge with jam and buttercream topped with icing and a rice paper poppy. They enjoyed them this morning with their teas and coffees just before we had our 2 minutes silence and watched a Royal British Legion Festival of Remembrance.

We have had a wonderful start to our week :) Yvonne and Marion went to Morrisons, they had either a cake or a bacon bap with a coffee and then did some shopping. While they were out, Nigel was here for one of his talks. Today it was about Great British Comedians and everyone said they really enjoyed it. We had a full lounge of residents! We have had lots of guests throughout the day. Someone came to visit both Gloria and Pam R, Janet's daughter visited this morning, Maureen had her son and daughter in-law pop in this afternoon and Joy's daughter came to see her and Marion has had a friend visit her this afternoon. This afternoon, Kerry came in for an art class. Today's picture was a mountain scene, which reminded us of the sound of music so we listened to the soundtrack while we painted :)

We are all decorated for remembrance now. Inside and out. There are poppies everywhere!! Although the weather was a bit murky, there’s been loads going on. Tony has been out for a walk twice today. Barbara was taken out for lunch by her daughter and son-in-law. Pam B was taken out for lunch by her sister Molly. Pam R had her hairdresser come in to do her hair, and her son arrived to see her at the same time. Also, our birthday girl Elizabeth had a visit from her daughter Nikki. This afternoon we had our usual quiz, and the residents did great. They are all very good at answering the quiz questions. They are so clever.
