Feeling grateful and proud.
This weekend marked two big completions:
On Friday, I passed my Classical Comprehensive training with .
I first went classical 12 years ago with Emma and , and these past 14 months have deepened my love for Pilates. I’m forever learning.
On Sunday, I ran the 30k North Downs Trail Race. It was brutal in the heat.
I signed up two years ago after losing my dog Wilf to cancer. Eddie (my other dog) and I started running to cope. I didn’t realize how long 30k was (I think in miles), but I’m stubborn and kept going.
Back then, I was grieving, depleted, and my old injury flared up. I spent last year rehabbing — which aligned with my Pilates training — and slowly rebuilt strength.
In December, I started training again with the support of . Then in April, we found a lump on Eddie’s paw — bone cancer. He had his leg amputated, and running didn’t feel the same.
Still, I showed up. I finished.
I cried at 25k remembering why I signed up. I miss Wilf. I miss running with Eddie.
Yesterday I said “never again”… today, who knows.
Thank you for all your support — you know who you are.
