It’s that time of year again… Black Friday…
We see a lot of the larger optician chains offer all kinds of deals for Black Friday, but the same as previous years, we won’t and here’s why:
- It doesn’t fit with our values. Black Friday is a global event that encourages pressured spending. We aim to provide a quality service for our local community, in a relaxed environment, with clear and consistent pricing, all year round. No pressure.
- We can’t afford it. Like many small businesses, the costs involved in running Eye Folk continue to increase, and we know you have felt the pinch too. So we offer different ways of paying - did you know you can spread the cost of your spectacles interest-free*? *ask our team for details.
- It’s tough on small businesses. Yes, it’s great to grab a bargain, and sometimes essential to shop around, but the many lovely independently run businesses in our town would love your support this Christmas.
Did you know we sell gift vouchers for those spectacle wearing friends and family!
So this Black Friday we will do the same as we have done before....
We will donate 10% of our sales on Black Friday to the RNIB Christmas Appeal, which is helping Santa send accessible letters to children who have a visual impairment.

If you fancy some new specs before Christmas, you do not need an appointment on Friday - you can just pop in and browse. Our team will be on hand to help you. If you haven’t had a sight test with us, that’s fine, just bring in a copy of your prescription (the opticians who did the test will provide this to you).
