There are lots of different types of shoulder injuries that can creep up on you without an obvious reason. Here are just a few that we often see in clinic:

🥶Frozen shoulder/adhesive capsulitis will tend to start as a minor reduction in comfortable movement of the shoulder. It then progresses to much larger losses in range of motion and pain around the area
💪Rotator cuff or biceps tendonitis (inflammation of the tendonous portions of the affected muscles) also tend to start off as a mild ache and develop into sharp pain
👵👴Arthritis in one or all 3 (yes 3) of the synovial joints that make up your shoulder, can gradually start to cause pain and loss of range of motion

Here’s what we do to help:

1) Take a detailed case history - this gives us clues on what type of injury you have, how long you may have had it and how it’s impacting your life

2) Physical examination - this process enables us to assess & diagnose your complaint

3) Treatment - now that we have a working diagnosis we can safely and effectively apply treatment using a range of hands-on techniques

4) Advice and care plan – we give advice & exercises that will help extend the benefits of your treatment, and a care plan will give you confidence going forward knowing that there is a plan in place to help you

✨️Meet Katie✨️

Katie graduated form the European School of Osteopathy in 2008.
She takes a whole body approach to treating patients. Using soft tissue massage, articulation and mobilisation techniques to help ease their pain and get them up and moving again whilst giving exercises and lifestyle advice to further help them feel better as quickly as possible.

🔍Here are a few facts about Kaite:

Katie grew up in the suburbs of North London and went to school in Hertfordshire

⛷️⛵️She was lucky enough to learn to ski and sail with her parents when growing up. Her first part time job was as a dry slope ski instructor.

📺 Her guilty pleasure is watching any period costume dramas - we call it "Bonnet TV"

👫 She and Adam met on her 3rd day of University and on their first date, Adam cooked her a roast dinner which they ate picnic-style on the floor of his mouldy basement bedroom in his student house - they've been together ever since!

🥋 🏃‍♀️Katie does Taekwondo with the children and also runs. She has also recently tried rollerskating!

🦋Katie is a social butterfly and loves meeting new people and spending time with her family and friends.

✨️Meet Adam ✨️

Adam has been an osteopath since 2006. He has since worked in clinics in both Kent and Essex and has a real passion for Osteopathy and helping his patients.

Using a combination of hands-on treatment, exercise & lifestyle advice, Adam uses his expertise to help people get out of pain and move their body with confidence whilst helping them achieve longer term health goals.

🔍Here are some little facts about Adam to get to know him better:

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Adam was born in Bristol and has also lived in Barry in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

🦎For a few years, his parents had a pet shop which he helped out in. He has had all sorts of pets from cats, dogs and gerbils, to snakes, rats and a rather nippy iguana!

🍬His guilty pleasure is anything sweet!

💪🥋 he likes to move his body and keep strong by going to the gym and doing Taekwondo

🏕 his favourite holiday is camping with Katie and their 2 children
