What do we know about • 𝐁 𝐎 𝐍 𝐄 𝐒 •

Although bones are a very hard organ, they also have a dense network of blood vessels inside them where the bone marrow is located as well as on the outside that is covered by the periosteum.

Blood vessels provide support to various cell types within the bone and maintain functional niches in the bone marrow microenvironment. Heterogeneity within blood vessels and niches indicate the importance of specialized vascular niches in regulating skeletal functions.

Drainage of blood is by a system of veins that runs parallel with the arterial supply and by veins leaving the cortical periosteum through muscle insertions. Muscle contraction milks blood outward, giving rise to a centrifugal pattern of flow from the axial nutrient artery through the cortex and out through muscle attachments.

The circulatory system is extremely important in sustaining life. It's proper function is responsible for the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to all cells, as well as the removal of carbon dioxide, waste products, maintenance of optimum pH, and the mobility of the elements, proteins and cells, of the immune system.

The circulatory system is also called the cardiovascular system or the vascular system, this is the bodies own anti inflammatory system. The series of events in the process of inflammation are called: Vasodilation

The purpose of vascular changes or Vasodilation is to increase blood flow to the areas which need it most, mobilize and transport cells to the area to initiate and speed the healing process. The damaged cells are then removed and the body begins to put new collagen in the area of injury.

This phase is initiated immediately after injury and lasts 3-5 days can help aid this process and in most cases help speed this process up, decrease pain and swelling, prevent chronic inflammation, maintain mobility and strengthen the adjacent areas while injured areas are rested.

As gets ready to take on her challenge tomorrow , I am so excited that I’ll be there with the TheraPlate and supporting this amazing cause.

The TheraPlate uses vortex wave circulation therapy to stimulate muscle contraction and increase circulation, this helps to push oxygen and nutrient rich blood to every single area of the body with no vibration or negative impact to joints or muscles.
This makes it an amazing aid in pre and post performance sessions to help decrease inflammation, swelling, muscle soreness and reduce lactic acid buildup.

I had the pleasure of having these amazing mares on the TheraPlate for their first sessions today and both were so well behaved and enjoyed their time on there.

The lovely Flo has a nasty abscess so using the TheraPlate to aid with pain relief and speed up her healing time. She stood like a dream.

The beautiful Bubbles had a maintenance treatment and the difference was definitely noticed by her owner the next time she was ridden which was lovely to hear.
