Just rubbed some Aloe Heat cream and MSM gel into my aching and sore Iliotibial Band(ITB) the ligament that runs down the outside of the thigh to the knee. Done that 10 minutes ago and the pain has disappeared. Amazing!

Why not try something different this weekend. Take advantage of the sunny evenings, give the gym a missed and try working out in the park.... Here are 5 simple exercises to try out...

1. 30 seconds of squats leading straight into 30 seconds of jump squats - this exercise will tone your quads, hamstrings gluteus (glutes) and increase your heart rate.
💡Tip take the squat into your heals by raising your toes slights.

2. Find a bench or a low lying log and do 60 seconds of bunny hops - this exercise is going to strengthen your arms, shoulders and chest whilst you lift your body weight over the bench or log. See this YouTube example

3. 60 seconds of lunges alternating the legs. Add an upper body external twist... Example hold your arms up at chest height and twisting to the right when your right leg is the leading lunge leg or to the left if the leading lunge leg is the left leg. This exercise is going to improve your balance and tone your latissimus dorsi muscles (back muscles under your shoulder blades)

4. 60 seconds of push ups full body/knees. This exercise is going to strengthen and tone your chest, shoulder and tricep muscles

And lastly... Try the basic plank exercise for a full abdominal work out. Hold the plank position for a minimum of 30 seconds. See the YouTube example

Do this circuit of 5 exercises at least twice and give your body 30 seconds to recover between each exercise.
