How do you use your intuition to figure out what kind of healthy activities will work best for you?

You see, social media and other areas of the internet have a great deal of influence on our health these days. It's a great place for people to share their success stories and offer proof that what they are doing to keep fit and healthy works for them.

So our mind, as an onlooker, says to itself "Well if it works for them it'll probably work for me". But when we try what they are doing, we may struggle to connect or have success too. This can leave us feeling like a failure. Or like there is something wrong with us for not getting results too.

The thing is we're not wrong. And we're not a failure. What we are is DIFFERENT. Different right down in our core.

So in this week's conversation Mother Nature and I talk about intuition and our core nature. Specifically, how we can understand, recognise and use our intuition to help us find our own unique path to vibrant wellbeing.

My own story of health may not be quite what you'd expect of a health and fitness coach. I've certainly had my fair share of challenges, setbacks and road blocks along the way, just like many of you. Many of which I still work to overcome.

I'd like you to see that one's journey to back health, even a coach's journey back to health, is rarely a smooth one. So I wrote a post on my website talking about my own challenges and setbacks.

Now I LOVE to talk about the physical aspects of health, like Diet, Exercise and Recovery Strategies.

But there is one thing I love talking about even more than that: Mindset.

Sleep, Diet and Exercise are no match for the words you use on yourself, when it comes to getting healthy. So in today's podcast we begin to tackle this topic by introducing you to Mother Nature's 5th Rule of Wellbeing: "Being Kind To Yourself".

Coming at health from a perspective of Kindness and Compassion will ALWAYS lead to better health than coming at it from Guilt or Frustration. So in this episode Mother Nature shares her wisdom on this topic and a few useful metaphors that might shift you to a kinder way of thinking about your health journey.

Over the past few weeks we've been discussing Nature's 5 simple rules for vibrant wellbeing.

The first three – Sleep, Diet and Exercise – are very much the domain of physical wellbeing. So in the next two episodes we turn our attention to the mental side of wellness.

Today we talk about the deep human desire to be around other people. Our social behaviour is right a the root of what makes us so successful as a species, enabling the virtues of sharing, caring and compassion to flourish.

But being social means different things to different people. Some like to be at the centre of a large gathering, others prefer the a more one-to-one vibe. So in this conversation we'll try to make sense of nature's reason for this, and help everyone see their unique value in the tribe.

The goal of this conversation is to talk about the guidance nature shares with us when talking about this rule:

"Walk lots, Run a little, Dance and Lift Heavy Things often"

Rather than telling you to do exactly these four types of exercise, instead we use them as a metaphor. One that helps you in choosing the exercise that most benefits your wellness AND enjoyment.
