It’s Day! 💬

Time To Talk Day is about having open and honest conversations about mental health. Whether it's a chat with a friend, a colleague, or a family member, every conversation helps to break down the stigma and support those who might be struggling.

Help make mental health a priority and show that it's okay to talk about it. Today, let’s take a moment to check in with each other. A small conversation can mean so much. Who will you reach out to today? 💬

The Time To Talk website has some great tips for talking: https://timetotalkday.co.uk/tips-to-talk/

☆FORFAR CLUB MEETING ONLINE☆

We have so much respect if you let others know you are there for them if they want to talk.
We know it can be difficult to find a space to open up in, and we want to ensure this is OUR safe, confidential space.

This is why we agree to our ground rules.

We don't share what's said in the meetings or who attends. We respect each others shares and don't judge.

If you need to talk, why not join us on Tuesdays at 7pm ONLINE

Today, the 1st of February is awareness day, we are calling on everyone to 'learn to listen' and support each other’s mental health. 💙

Here are some tips to practice your active listening skills:

🔹 Be attentive: Eliminate distractions, maintain eye contact, and show genuine interest.

🔹 Listen without judgement: Create a safe space for open sharing without criticism.

🔹 Reflect and clarify: Repeat and ask questions to ensure understanding.

🔹 Validate feelings: Acknowledge emotions and experiences with empathy.

🔹 Use non-verbal cues: Nod, smile, and use open body language to show attentiveness.

🔹 Be patient and allow for silence: Let the speaker express themselves fully without rushing.

🔹 Ask open-ended questions: Encourage deeper conversation with thoughtful questions.

🔹 Offer support, not solutions: Sometimes just listening is the best support you can offer.

If reaching out to someone you trust feels overwhelming, remember Breathing Space is also available to provide a listening ear. More information in the comments!

YOU are good enough. Don’t compare yourself with others.

You’re worthy. Stop worrying about how you look, the amount of money you have, how many friends you’ve got, if you’re smart enough etc. Today, realise that the person you are, YOU are more than enough. Don’t let your negative thoughts overshadow who you truly are. Deep inside, you’re happy, a person full of smiles and enjoys life. That side of you needs to come out again, it’s far been too long hasn't it.🫂
