Fiona Reilly - Reflexology and Doula Services Reflexology, Maternity Reflexology, Birth Exploration and Companionship, Baby Massage, doula, doula training

Welcome to my page, my name is Fiona Reilly. I have been a practitioner of complimentary therapies for over 12 years, during this time I have had the pleasure to work with many varied clients. I believe that the body has a wonderful innate ability to heal itself, though with our busy modern lives the body can become out of balance due to stress, pain or illness. We frequently do not give our bodies the time and opportunity to heal, however help is available. Reflexology is a gentle therapy that encourages the body to naturally restore its own healthy balance. Reflexology

Reflexology gently treats and heals the whole body through compression massage of the feet or hands. Reflex points on the feet and hands are linked to various parts of the body by meridians (a type of energy line). Reflexology helps to release blockages, tension and congestion in these pathways increasing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing. Reflexology can help with a variety of life’s challenges and health issues, while regular reflexology sessions can help boost the immune system preventing illness and increasing energy and vitality. People find it helps to induce deep relaxation and relieve stress. Reflexology can assist in the following ways:

• Create a sense of wellbeing and relaxation
• Increase energy and vitality, beneficial for CFS and ME
• Clear the mind and relieve stress
• Encourage system to rebalance and heal itself
• Relieve muscle pain, tension and sport injuries
• Relieve headaches and other aches and pains
• Alleviate arthritis pain
• Balance menstrual/menopausal and hormonal issues
• Promote efficient digestion and ease IBS
• Stimulate circulation and respiration efficiency
• Relieve sinus congestion, asthma and effects of allergies
• Remove toxins

Reflexology is an excellent, gentle therapy with many possible benefits.

“Each day comes bringing its own gifts, untie the ribbons!”

Maternity reflexology

Maternity reflexology is a specialised form of reflexology to help support the parents and baby from preconception to after birth. It is a very safe, gentle and non-invasive therapy though is not recommended during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Reflexology can help to prepare the parents for pregnancy, by increasing fertility and s***m production and regulating the menstrual cycle. It can help to balance and harmonise hormone levels. Additionally it helps to reduce stress and facilitates relaxation. During pregnancy, maternity reflexology can assist in relieving many of the symptoms commonly associated with pregnancy such as:
• Morning sickness
• Heartburn
• Hormonal and menopausal imbalances
• Nausea and headaches
• Back Pain
• Swelling and discomfort
• Oedema
• Insomnia
• Digestive problems
• Menstrual problems
Reflexology can also greatly assist prior to and during birth, studies carried out in the UK and Denmark have shown that reflexology can speed up labour and dramatically reduce pain. It can also assist with encouraging the onset of labour. While after the birth, reflexology can
• induce calmness and relaxation
• encourage well being and balance
• reduce pain
• increase energy levels
• aid lactation
• prevent or reduce post natal depression

Maternity reflexology is a wonderful, easy way of supporting the family.

“There is nothing as precious as the gift of life.”

I'm creating a resource bank for newly qualified local doulas (birth and postnatal), currently training with the Art of Being with Birth. I wondered what people found helpful locally e.g. cranio-sacral therapists, physio support, massage, groups for young babies (up to six months), breastfeeding support... etc I am aware of many of the things on offer already, though curious if there are any gems I'm missing. It could also be a useful thread for others searching for info too.

(Perhaps we could aim to keep things in categories by replying if there is already a recommendation similar to yours, I'll start with yoga for pregnancy)

🎶👶 Baby Singing & Signing Classes 🎶👶

A 6 week block that helps babies communicate with ease and encourage development through music and signing.

✨ When: Wednesdays, starting March 4th at 11am
✨ Where: Findhorn

Here’s what Becky, one of our lovely participants, had to say about her experience:
"Me and my son attended the sing and sign classes and we had a wonderful time. Fiona is so good with the babies and makes everyone feel so welcome and at ease. I can now communicate with my little one and he can tell me things like food, drink, more, finished, change, and signs along to songs. It’s really helped ease some frustrations for him knowing he can tell me what he wants and the other ladies I met there were so lovely, it’s one of the best groups I’ve been to and we do miss it!" - Becky

Join us and discover the joy of communication through song and sign! 💕

Love this group ❤️ Thanks to Melisda and team

Mum days is so very excited to be welcoming you all back with our first group of the year next week 🥳

Wednesday 11th February 10am-11:30am 📆

We have been doing some much needed work behind the scenes, and are now ready to reopen to the public 🥰 with a cuppa in hand, lots of play for the wee ones, and a friendly face to chat with ♥️

We will now be running sessions every two weeks again, instead of weekly, with a slightly earlier finishing time of 11:30am. This is something that has been under careful consideration with our volunteers, and to ensure their health and wellbeing, this was our best outcome. 🫶

We are super looking forward to seeing you all there! Please book in through Eventbrite to ensure a spot in the session 🎉

Delighted to have received the following feedback for the Pregnancy Yoga and Birth Education classes at Elgin Yoga Centre on Mondays...

“A huge thank you for the wonderful yoga class. I really love the pregnancy yoga. It’s so nurturing and really relaxing.”(Sarah)

"I started going to Fiona’s yoga classes when I started to get hip and pelvis pain in my pregnancy and realised I needed support to keep fit.
On arrival I immediately felt it was a very calming environment and everyone was so welcoming and friendly which instantly made me feel at ease. I really enjoyed the variety of doing something different each week and learning different ways to support and manage both physically and mentally through my pregnancy.
We always had time to discuss various topics, Fiona’s knowledge, experience and information being very helpful.
What I most enjoyed was the time I got to really focus on myself and tune out from everything else happening in life, I always came away feeling super relaxed and in a better place both mentally and physically." (Nicola)

✨ Yoga for Pregnancy & Birth Education ✨

I’m delighted that the Yoga for Pregnancy & Birth Education class at Elgin Yoga Centre restart again on Monday, Jan 26th at 6:30pm. 🌸

These classes are Scaravelli-inspired, focusing on softness, release, and gentle movement to help you prepare for birth with ease and confidence.

Each session will also include time for birth education, open discussion, and questions — all shared over a comforting cup of tea. ☕💛 I have been a doula for over 15 years, I teach birth preparation workshops and run doula training programs, so have lots of experience to share and am passionate about positive birth.

This is a nurturing space to connect with your body, your baby, and other parents-to-be. It's a wonderful and supportive way to prepare for your birth and transition to motherhood.

Get in touch with any questions or to book your place :)
