This image is a powerful visual comparison between fat and muscle, both weighing 2.2 kg (or about 5 pounds) — but taking up very different amounts of space in the body.
🟡 Fat is bulkier, softer, and takes up more volume. 🔴 Muscle is denser, leaner, and more compact.
💡 That’s why:
Two people can weigh the same but look totally different based on muscle-to-fat ratio.
You might slim down in inches without seeing a big change on the scale — because you’re replacing fat with muscle.
So no, muscle doesn’t “weigh more” than fat — a kilo is a kilo — but muscle is more compact, and that’s what gives your body a leaner, tighter look 💪🔥
👉 It’s not just about the number on the scale — it’s about what your body is made of. Stay strong, not just light.

Sorry been a bit quiet on here recently! A question I get asked quite a lot:

So do you actually have to do a Warm Up & Cool Down pre/post workout?????

ABSOLUTELY 👍👍👍

A WARM UP gradually revs up your cardiovascular system by raising your body temp and increasing blood flow to your muscles 💪 It prepares your body for what you’re about to do, means better flexibility and range of motion.

COOLING DOWN helps bring your heart rate down safely, it allows your body to adjust and recover. It helps prevent injury and clear the lactic acid, so you’re ready to perform your best at your next workout 🦾
Don’t skip either!!!!🥜🥜🥜🥜

The PT Nut

I am a Level 3 PT and Exercise Referral Specialist, Level 2 Gym and ETM Instructor and Class Fitness Instructor. I have almost 10 years experience in teaching fitness classes including Aerobics, Circuits, Group Cycling, Hiit, Kettlercise & Metafit !

I came late to fitness, after losing some weight and realising I had to get healthier, as I have lived with Type 1 Diabetes since early childhood. I totally understand the struggles of juggling life, family work and not having the time or inclination to exercise and keep fit. I want to work together with you to find a way to get healthy FOREVER!

You may find gyms intimidating, boring, expensive, too complicated OR you may love them. I want to work with you where you feel comfortable, in your own home, garden, outside, online or in a gym. I want to help you find a way for you to include exercise & movement in your everyday life.

I want to help you learn more about your nutrition & your eating habits, to give you the tools and knowledge to lose weight sustainably without strict diets, shakes, pills & STARVATION.
