I hope this finds you well and you are having a good week so far.

As you all know I will be running the London marathon on the 23rd April. It’s been a really tough training journey with numerous injury’s, including a torn hamstring, and illnesses, but I am the type of person that does not give up. Things are looking up injury wise and I am intending to be on that start line for the first time in 13 days! I won’t be fast but I will complete it!

I am running this year for a small charity a scleroderma uk. My mum suffers from this dehabitating auto immune disease. It is an invisible illness and causes the build up of excess scar tissue on your skin, joints, heart and lungs. Ultimately attacking vital organs. The good news is that progress can be slowed with early detection and stem cell therapy.

I know times are tough at the moment but I would be so grateful for anything you would be able to donate. I am also going to do a prize draw for all those who donate.

Any donations over 50 pounds will be in with a chance to win, a 60 minute one to one PT or Pilates session, in person or online. Or 50 pounds off a class pack.

Any donations over 25 pounds will be in with a chance to win 20 pounds off PT/ Pilates session or class pack.

Any donations over 10 pounds, a chance to win a free class in person or online.

Just 6 weeks to go until the London marathon. I’m excited, scared nervous. I still have a long way to go in training and fundraising! This week has been tough, frustrating in so many way but I will get there! Please take a look at my page for updates and sponsorship! I know times are really tough for everyone right now, even the smallest downtime would be gratefully accepted. Scleroderma is a viscous painful and deadly autoimmune disease. Finally got my certificates through for my exercise referral! This course took 18 months with assessment days, closed book exams and lots of worksheets and case studyI didn’t know how I made it with running a business, working full time, being a mum and training for 2,marathons. I nearly gave up, but pulled my socks up to finish it over my time off in Christmas. For anyone that knows me... I hate sitting down at computers. I did make it and I’m really proud of this one! Exercise prescription for high risk individuals with co- morbities is the way forward!

Yes this is a slow 10 k. But First treadmill 10 k since a cuboid bone stess fracture and ligament, tendon damage. No Pain during and after end felt easy!! The watt Bike interval, strength straining and lots of biking, rehab, pilates and yoga is paying off! London marathon I am coming for you!!

As we have had a few new people join us in classes this week. I thought I would write a little post on muscle soreness. Firstly, although Pilates is low impact, don’t assume it will be easy. You may well experience a few muscle aches and pains after class. If you are new, you may well be using muscles that you have never used before. This is called DOMS. Delayed onset muscle soreness. For the next 24-48 hours your muscle fibres may well let you know about it. We then rest and they repair to hopefully come back a little stronger. We are strengthening and lengthening! Also, we are having to often relearn poor movement and posture patterns! Your shoulders may be used to rounding forwards. They may not like it when you try and tell them to come down and back. As with anything it takes time, perseverance and consistency. There is no quick fix! However, if you do, the results will speak for themselves! Healthier spines, improved posture, strong core, great alignment and a greater sense of wellbeing!

So 100 days until I run the real London marathon, after doing the virtual one twice! For my mum who suffers with a rare autoimmune condition. To make matters more challenging I have been battling a stress fracture of the cuboid bone… so 5 weeks off running/ impact. On the positive been doing lots of Strength training and fitness has really improved with the watt bike. This week also managed 4 k walk run without pain and no swelling. Please follow my progress and training. I have a big target to reach too so any sponsorship would be amazing!

Happy New year everyone!

After a challenging week with a poorly William finally had my X-ray after 4 hours in urgent care. Cuboid metatarsal fracture! Good news is healing really well as an area that has lots of blood supply (nearly 2 weeks) and no boot! Pilates and training has made my ankles and ligaments strong! Just need a bit more rest after a marathon next time, more calcium and vitamin D and don’t change your trainers!!
