Marilene started her Yoga practice in 2003 and her Pilates practice in 2005. Between 2006-2009, she was certified in Yoga Therapy with MT and Roberto Mazzarella at the Yoga Therapy College, Houston, Texas. She went on to study the use of props under the guidance of Iyengar teacher Laura Webster at the Omni Yoga Centre, Kingwood. During 2009, she qualified as a Reflexologist with Patricia McPherson of Derwen Therapies Reflexology Academy in Houston and did workshops in Indian Head Massage and Aromatherapy. In July 2013, she completed Nia White Belt Training at Burntisland, Scotland, UK. Since 2017, she has taught matwork Pilates and completed her training with the Brigid McCarthy Pilates Studio in Edinburgh. During 2025 she completed reformer Pilates and Spine Corrector/Arc Barrel training with APPI. Marilene continues to study various movement methods to help each client find their own body’s way of moving in a more mindful and functional manner that can improve day to day activities. This approach can help reduce pain while improving physical strength, mental focus and overall well-being. Yoga and Pilates classes are taught locally and privately in a calm and supportive environment and are suitable for most ages and levels of abilities.
