I have been receiving messages regarding sports massage in Fraserburgh and had a few people waiting to be booked in for when I could re-open. I have been working back down in Glasgow since government advice allowed it and have made the decision to not take any appointments in Fraserburgh for the forseeable future. I was working here before lockdown so am really busy catching up with missed appointments and soon returning to uni.

Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks

Walking is simple, free and one of the easiest ways to get more active, lose weight and become healthier.

Walking briskly can help you build stamina, burn excess calories and make your heart healthier.

You do not have to walk for hours. A brisk 30-minute daily walk has lots of health benefits and counts towards your recommended 150 minutes of weekly exercise.

‼️UPDATE
Please share🌟

Hello everyone!

Just wanted to post an update after receiving lots of messages following yesterdays announcement from Nicola Sturgeon.

The Clinical Director for Scotland Professor Jason Leitch has asked the government for clarification around which therapies are included in returning to work for massage and complementary therapies specifically. It is unclear whether we are included in “personal retail services” returning on the 22nd July. Hoping that further guidance will be released soon but until then, I do not have a date for reopening yet in line with government guidelines.

Really missing treating all my clients, fingers crossed it won’t be long and I promise you will all be the first to know😊

🟡ROTATOR CUFF REHAB🟡

Forgot to post these last week with all the beautiful weather we have been having☀️Last week I returned to upper body training after experiencing pain in my rotator cuff after a workout, which was mainly due to weakness in the muscles and overuse. I used ice on the area over the first 48 hours to reduce the pain and as hard as it was I fully rested. It was disheartening and I was worried about it affecting my progress but I knew if I did not treat it properly then it would only lead to additional/recurrent problems in the future!
💪🏽ROTATOR CUFF- made up of 4 muscles on the scapula:
🔸Supraspinatus
🔸Infraspinatus
🔸Teres minor
🔸Subscapularis
These muscles all contribute to shoulder movements (including rotation and lifting the arm overhead) and are essential for shoulder stability and positioning which is so important as the shoulder is a less stable joint! As talked about in my last post, the rotator cuff muscles are also type 1 so are inhibited by pain and can lead to altered movement patterns.
Here are a few exercises I did with a light resistance band which really helped me get back weight training and pain free but I still do these exercises to maintain strength and stability and prevent injuries☺️

A little post run stretch for our backs and hips, hamstrings, quads, calfs and achilles tendons🏃🏼‍♀️
Give this a try after your next lower body workout or run and try to hold each stretch for 30 seconds😄

It’s so important to stretch after every workout to eliminate lactic acid so the muscles will have less tension and soreness and can become more flexible😊
