📣 Use of paracetamol during pregnancy remains safe and there is no evidence it causes autism in children.

Paracetamol remains the NHS-recommended painkiller during pregnancy, when used as directed – which is at the lowest effective dose, for the shortest time needed.

Our advice is based on rigorous assessment of the best available evidence, and we continuously monitor new data to ensure our recommendations remain safe and up to date.

If you ever suspect a side effect from any medicine, please report it to us through the Yellow Card scheme – this helps us keep medicines safe for everyone.

Paracetamol should be taken as directed in the patient information leaflet

Flu Vaccine Update.
As we have previously informed you, we have ordered a flu vac for all our eligible patients ie Pregnant ladies, 2-3 year olds, Care Home Residents, adults over the age of 65 years & aged 6 months-65 years in clinical at risk groups.

Vaccination of Pregnant ladies & 2-3 year olds will start from mid Sept. Invitations for these groups will be sent shortly. Planned Clinics for nasal flu and pregnant ladies are 10/9/25 PM and 23/9/25 PM.

Under and Over 65 Year Olds - we were hoping that we would have been able to send you a link to book your appointment by now, but we are not able to send these until 1 month before the clinics start. Our first flu clinic for this age group, is scheduled for 1st October 2025. We will therefore be sending links via text from 1st September to book directly into clinics from 1st October 2025. This will be done on a gradual basis so please don't worry if you do not receive a text on the first week in September. Please ensure we have your correct mobile number.

If you are housebound and haven't been contacted yet, you will be contacted by the admin team with your appointment in September / October. We have also planned a drop in clinic on Saturday 4th October for all age groups. If you struggle to get to surgery maybe your relative could bring you to this?

Starting from 7am on Friday 25th July until 7am on Wednesday 30th July some NHS services will be affected due to resident doctor’s strike action. Although no doctors at the surgery are affected, this may still have impact upon the surgery as we may have more patients contacting or requesting appointments for advice. Please be kind and respectful to staff.

Autumn and Winter Flu Vaccination Programme 2025

The main 25/26 Autumn/Winter Flu Vaccination Programme commences on 1st October 2025.

Important patient information

You might have seen online or on the news that GPs can now give out a medicine called tirzepatide (Mounjaro®) on the NHS to help people lose weight. While this is true in some parts of the country, it’s not yet available in South Yorkshire.

That’s because the people in charge are still making plans for how the service will work. This includes making sure additional support for physical activity, diet and nutrition is ready too.

We know this might be disappointing, but we ask for your patience while everything is being sorted out.

It’s also important to know that not everyone will be able to get tirzepatide, even if they want it. The NHS has very strict medical criteria about who can have it, and most people might not meet this criteria even though the medicine is approved.

In the meantime, we’re here to help. Please keep talking to us about the other ways we can support your weight loss journey. And we’ll let you know as soon as there are any updates.
