A little update on the past week or so. There's always something going on here at the home. Recently we marked the start of Ramadan and Lent. Christine set up a new women's group in the conservatory. We had visits from Retro Rita and Visosport. We've had reminiscence activities and we've learned new painting techniques. This morning we made pizzas and we hope to get outside in the sunshine this afternoon (if the sun stays out 🤞).

And we had another birthday to celebrate this week... Happy Birthday Judy!! Judy went out for afternoon tea with her daughters and was spoilt with a pampering session here at the home on Monday. Always glamorous, elegant and so very kind, we love you Judy ❤️ Thank you to Helen for the beautiful pictures.

On Friday Eileen celebrated her birthday! She had a lovely day with a visit from her daughter and a delicious chocolate cake. Happy Birthday from all of us here at the home Eileen, we enjoy your company and positivity so much.

Today we had another very fun visit from Jane. She chose some brilliant hits from the sixties and seventies that had everyone dancing with their silks and laughing. We finished the visit with some calming hand massages to wind down after so much excitement! Thank you Jane for coming in to see us!

Happy Valentine's Day! We had a lovely day celebrating. Rachel, Ricardo and Henry prepared a delicious afternoon tea, we watched a romantic film, listened to our favourite love songs and shared stories of love. It was a beautiful day!

Last week we had a visit from Steve Shappelle and his therapy dog Sofi. Sofi is 13 years old and such a lovely, calm girl. Everyone enjoyed stroking her and having a bit of a sing-along with Steve.
At the weekend, we started to get in the Valentine's mood with some wooden heart painting.

On Wednesday we enjoyed our visit from Jane of Peaceful Pathways Dorset - Jane Scanlan. Jane brought her therapy dog Umber with her. Everyone is always so happy to see Umber and so impressed by her extremely good girl behaviour.
We also enjoyed making music and dancing with the silks. Thank you for coming to see us Jane!

This afternoon we started planting flower seeds in trays. We will care for these inside until they are ready to plant out into the raised beds. We planted cosmos, lobelia, rudbeckia and hollyhocks. Pat also helped to pot up our beans which you may have seen germinating in windows around the home.

Some of our residents were very busy yesterday afternoon with puzzles and it carried on this morning led by our chief puzzler Viv.

Yesterday, we celebrated Barbara's 104th birthday! Unfortunately, we couldn't fit 104 candles on the cake 😅 Barbara had a lovely day celebrating.
