Are you wanting to feel better and improve your fitness this year? I teach a range of Gentle Yoga and Gentle Keep Fit classes designed to offer choice to all ages and fitness levels.
Which one is best for you?
Both classes will help increase mobility, strength and balance. Both classes will increase energy levels, stamina and mood. Both classes will help you to relax, reduce stress hormones and aid sleep. Both classes will improve posture and reduce joint pain. Both classes can help you to lose weight.
So what's the key differences?
Yoga is more of a mind-body practice, combining conscious movement with breath awareness and awareness of self. Yoga can help us arrive at a place of stillness where we feel calm, peaceful and strong, physically, mentally and emotionally.
Keep Fit is more upbeat. Lively music will make you want to move in a way that feels like dance, but is really just simple movements strung together to make the exercise feel fun and effortless. The 2nd part of the class focusses on strengthening and stretching exercises. We use resistance bands and do these exercises seated on chairs. Fun and social, this class will leave you feeling uplifted and energised.
One thing they have in common, they are super-friendly and relaxed. Newcomers are always made to feel welcome and everyone is encouraged to do only what feels right for them.
Still not sure?
Lots of different classes run in Frodsham, Kingsley, Kelsall, Runcorn & Widnes. For a full list of classes, please see January’s timetable in amongst the photos or see my website
