Bea enjoyed a typical day spending time doing the things she likes best. She caught up on some reading in her favourite chair, enjoyed a home-cooked lunch, and later relaxed in the garden with one of the friendly cats. 😸

It’s the little everyday moments like these that make life feel familiar and personal, with support from a team who really get to know each person and what matters to them.

Thank you to Smith Blackwill – also known as The Pom-pom Lady, for coming in to host a brilliant seated pom-pom class. 🥰

Pom-pom sessions are a fun and gentle way to keep moving, helping with coordination and circulation while bringing lots of smiles. They are especially valuable for people living with a Dementia, as the rhythm and colour encourage engagement, and make exercise feel light and enjoyable.

Life here is full of the simple moments that matter most, sharing a puzzle, enjoying a coffee out, catching up with friends, or taking part in group activities together.

Each day brings something different, but what remains the same is the sense of connection, choice and familiarity. Whether it’s heading out for a trip, chatting over food, or spending time with animals, it all feels part of home. ❤️

We are very sad to share that our much-loved guinea pig, Squeak, passed away yesterday.

Squeak brought such warmth and comfort to our home, always ready for a cuddle or to simply be close by. She will be deeply missed by family members and team alike.

Family member, Ruby, wanted to have something written to say at Squeak’s farewell, so her daughter Jackie came to help her put the words together and read them aloud:

“No more your nose will twitch and sniff,
no more your happy weeks will greet.
A cosy nest, a gentle sigh,
you've graced our home with tiny feet.

An empty hutch, a quiet space,
the lettuce bowl now sits forlorn.
We miss your face, your gentle ways,
as part of you here will live on.

If tears could build a stairwell
and memories a lane,
I would walk right up to heaven
and bring you back again.”

Ruby felt the words captured Squeak so beautifully that she wanted the poem placed with her at burial. With dignity and care, family member Malcolm then helped to lay Squeak to rest, a true reflection of the love shared for her here.

And while we said goodbye to Squeak, our other guinea pig, Bubbles, is now enjoying lots of extra love and attention from everyone. 🐹💛

Life here is full of those familiar comforts that make a place feel like home. 🍽🥰

You’ll often find someone deep in a good read, enjoying a bit of music, playing a game of cards, or gently chatting while holding one of our much-loved guinea pigs.

Every moment matters. It's not about filling the day, it’s about creating space for connection, choice and the routines that have always been important.

Every day has its own rhythm here, shaped by the people who call this place home.

From piecing together puzzles, tucking into a favourite meal, or catching up over tea out in town, every day brings a mix of familiar comforts and something a bit different.

It’s all about choice, independence and keeping that sense of ‘home’, no matter what we’re doing.

For International Day of Charity, we came together to collect food donations for Frome food bank. 🥰

It was lovely to see family members, team members and friends all pitching in to support local people. A simple way of showing kindness and staying connected with our community.

Happy Onam 🌸

We marked the festival with a beautiful pookalam, which is a floral design created as part of the celebrations.

Onam celebrates the return of King Mahabali, remembered for his generosity and the prosperity he brought to Kerala.

A time for colour, tradition and togetherness.

We were soaking up the sun in the garden with a cheeky drink in hand, and the smiles were endless. A huge thank you to Paul Wheeler for entertaining and making it a day to remember. It’s a great example of our safe and responsive care in action, ensuring our family members can simply enjoy these special moments. 🌞
