We regularly welcome little visitors from Sunflower Nursery. Family members and the children enjoyed board games and quiet conversation, some gently guiding a move, others listening or sharing a story.

These simple afternoons reflect life at home and offer real choice. A family member who once managed a busy household helped a child take a turn, bringing back a sense of familiarity and purpose.

For those living with a Dementia, these moments do more than entertain. They support independence, connection and dignity through mutual presence and thoughtful attention.

Last week here in Frome, we turned our home's front grounds into a little festival, with bunting, inflatable guitars, and a live set from Danny Jukebox. We shared strawberries and ice cream, and family members chose whether to sit back or join in the music.

It felt like a real day out at Worthy Farm, which is only 25 miles away from here at home.

We’ve really enjoyed our regular visits from Sunflower Nursery. During one of their recent trips, we gave the children some blank canvases to take back and paint. They gifted them back to us beautifully painted, and are now looking great on the wall.

One little girl, Weronica, has formed a natural connection with Ruby, one of our family members who she spent time with each visit. Even though Weronica is finishing her time at nursery, her mum has kindly offered to keep bringing her back once a month. These visits have become part of her routine, and we're pleased that familiar connection will continue.

Bowling indoors, tucking into a home cooked meal, nothing out of the ordinary, just part of everyday life.

A bit of movement, a bit of friendly competition, and a proper plate of food, with a veggie option of course, all help to keep things feeling normal, comfortable and familiar. 🍽

Life here carries on much like it always has, with routines, choice and the little things that make a day feel right.
