The wonderful benefits of flower arranging 🌸

Beautiful scents, bursts of colour, and a little brightness to lift January days. The residents enjoyed concentrating on getting the arrangements just right, creating stunning centrepieces for the dining tables. 🌼✨

💙 What an inspiring morning!

Last week at Rossetti House, we hosted a “Let’s Talk About Parkinson’s” event — bringing together health professionals, community groups, and people affected by Parkinson’s. One room. Lots of questions answered. Referrals made. And most importantly, people didn’t feel alone. 🤝

A huge thank you to Helen Schura (Parkinson’s UK), Ann Collins and Rose Teeranggoon (Beckington Family Practice & Frome Medical Practice), and Caroline Sherrard, Pauline Manny, and all the members of the Frome Parkinson’s Support Group, who are there every month at the Town Hall (second Friday, 10:00–12:00) to offer support. 💜

This is exactly why I love my role as a CRM — helping our community, hosting events that matter, and connecting people to support where it’s needed most.

If there are other groups or topics you think we could help with, come and meet me — we’ll always do our best to support. And yes… we have pretty good coffee and cake too! ☕🍰

🐍🦎 What a fun afternoon we had at Rossetti House today! 🐌🐸🌿

We were lucky enough to have Zoolab visit us, bringing along a baby python 🐍, leopard gecko 🦎, stick insect 🪵🐜, tree frog 🐸, and an African land snail 🐌. Residents really enjoyed learning about the animals and seeing them up close.

There were lots of smiles 😊 and a few very brave moments 💪, with some residents stepping out of their comfort zones and having a go at handling the animals — while others were just as happy to watch, chat, and cheer them on 👏

It was a relaxed, enjoyable session full of learning 📚 and fun 🎉, and it definitely gave everyone something to talk about afterwards. A big thank you to Zoolab for such a lovely visit 🐾💚

🌟 It’s the small things that make a big difference! 🌟

Today, one of the residents spent some quiet time tackling a jigsaw puzzle with the support of one of our amazing carers. 🧩💛

There may have been a few pieces that refused to fit at first… but a little patience, some teamwork, and a few laughs later, the puzzle came together! 😄

It’s these small, meaningful moments every day—focus, connection, and a bit of fun—that truly make a difference and brighten the residents’ day. ✨

A fun-filled afternoon at Rossetti House! 🎲 The residents enjoyed a cheerful game of Monopoly, with lots of laughs, friendly competition, and a few playful negotiations along the way.

Board games like this are a great way to keep minds active, encourage social time, and most importantly, have a good giggle together.

A lovely time had by all! 😊

🐾 Pet Therapy That Warms the Heart 🐾

Each week, Penny brings along lovely Coco the Westie as part of the dogs for Dogs for Health, and together they bring so much happiness into our home. Coco visits residents in their rooms, sharing cuddles, smiles, and moments of real comfort.

We’re so grateful to Penny, Coco, and Dogs for Dogs for Health for the joy, warmth, and companionship they bring to everyone 💛🐾

Local children join Frome care home for journey into Christmas past

Old festive traditions have come to life at a care home in Frome, where residents welcomed a local charity for a day of seasonal activities.

Rossetti House, on Welshmill Lane, joined forces with young visitors from Purple Elephant to revisit customs from Christmases past.

Families supported by Purple Elephant joined residents in making their very own traditional Christmas decorations, including paper chains, handmade cards and orange and clove pomanders.
