✨ Knitting, Nattering & Christmas Stockings! ✨

Looking for a cosy way to spend a Tuesday afternoon? Come join us as we chat, create, and occasionally pretend we meant to drop that stitch. 🧶😄

We’ve been making the cutest little Christmas stockings, but we welcome all levels—from “I knit every day” to “I don’t know which end of the needle to hold.” Everyone fits right in!

Plus, we provide tea and cake, because creativity is obviously powered by snacks. ☕🍰

🧵 Every Tuesday
⏰ 2:30 – 4:30 PM
👋 Warm, friendly, and everyone welcome!

Warning: side effects may include laughter, new friendships, and crumbs on your knitting. 🎄💛

Sharing some great advice from Alzheimer’s Society today. Their guidance is always thoughtful, practical, and a powerful reminder of how we can support people living with dementia.

With temperatures forecasted to drop across the UK over the next few days, it’s important to make sure that we’re looking out for our loved ones living with dementia.

Winter can be a particularly difficult time for somebody living with dementia. The bad weather and colder temperatures can bring specific challenges, and can sometimes make symptoms temporarily worse.

They may not always be able to communicate that they are cold – or they might not even recognise it themselves.

Perception issues can also make it difficult for someone with dementia to see icy patches on a pavement or understand that a surface may be extra slippery.

So make sure to check in regularly on loved ones, friends and neighbours living with dementia, and follow our useful tips to help support them through the winter.

🌳 A Wish Come True with Care UK’s Wishing Tree 🌳

Thanks to the Care UK Wishing Tree, Amanda was able to reconnect with a place that means so much to her—Dyrham Park. Her parents once lived in the nearby village and are now buried in the churchyard there, making each visit deeply personal.

In her bedroom at Rossetti House, Amanda has a painting of the park’s courtyard, created by her cousin in a Trompe-l'œil style. The painting captures the heart of Dyrham Park; every time Amanda looks at it, she feels the joy, peace, and fond memories of the place she loves.

As part of her wish, Amanda enjoyed a personal tour of the house with her friend, actor and historian Neil Stacy, who shared fascinating stories about the rooms and the park’s history. She was joined by her friends Ann and Barbara, making the day even more special.

Amanda and Neil go way back—they performed together in a touring theatre company under Amanda’s maiden name, Amanda Grinling, in plays like The Importance of Being Earnest. Visiting Dyrham Park brought all of those happy memories flooding back.

💛 Thanks to the Care UK Wishing Tree, Amanda was able to step into her memories and create new ones—celebrating a place filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments.

A heartfelt thank you to our Mayor, Anita Collier, and the fantastic Jane Norris, Remembrance Coordinator for the Royal British Legion, Frome, who delivered yet another wonderful Remembrance Service for residents, guests, and colleagues at Rossetti House this morning. 🌹

We’re so thankful for Jane’s dedication and the way she supports us in bringing remembrance to Rossetti House, ensuring everyone can take part in this meaningful occasion. ❤️

Thank you also to everyone from the community who joined us in marking this important time of reflection and remembrance. Your presence made the occasion even more special — and the visit from the Mayor made it all the more memorable. 👏

The morning was beautifully rounded off with coffee, cakes, and lovely company — a perfect way to come together and share memories. ☕🍰
