This is not an exhaustive list but just a few of the ways I try to manage tension building up in my body.
I’ll caveat this by also saying that there are days where all of my best laid plans fall to sh*te, times where I overindulge, drink too much, binge watch utter trash on Netflix and don’t move enough, eat chocolate for breakfast and don’t do any of the above 🫠
Sometimes I feel like social media and particularly the health and wellness industry would have us thinking that all of these things are so black and white. Like we’re either successful at “wellness” or we’re failing. I think it’s much more nuanced than that, we’re human….lovely, imperfect, pleasure seeking, messy and trying our best (most of the time🥹)
Sometimes the things we enjoy aren’t so great for us, sometimes life throws us more than we are able to cope with and prioritising ourselves or our health is just not possible for a while. But I feel like as long as we can find a bit of balance and consistently try to do the little things that we know will make us feel better… not just now but tomorrow, next week, next year etc… we’re doing alright 💗🙌🏼
