I’ve you been to yoga, a circle or on retreat with us you will have seen the beautiful altars that we have been creating. I always made some form of altar from when I started running retreats in 2018 and for many years I’d been making altars at home with candles, crystals, flowers and photos without really knowing what they were. has really been helping me refine altar making over the last year and we have been creating some beautiful ones lately.
An altar is a sacred space that we can set up anywhere but it’s really great to have one at home or when we are running an event and holding space.
In women’s circles or on retreat, an altar becomes the heart of the space — a place to honour the season, the elements, and the energy we are working with together. It also becomes the space that keeps us grounded and connected. This is why we invite you to bring an item from home to play on the altar for the session.
An altar might include candles, flowers, crystals, natural objects, cards or meaningful items that represent our intentions or that hold personal meaning for us.
Creating an altar is a simple but powerful way to bring intention, groundedness and connection into a circle. It reminds us to slow down, connect to something deeper, and honour the sacred in life.
Sometimes we also invite you to bring an offering such as flowers or herbs from your garden to honour the seasons or a goddess we might be working with.
Your own altar at home can be really simple and could have a candle, crystal and photo. When you need some space, time out, want to meditate, pray or reconnect you can work with your altar. It can also help you stay grounded 🙏
✨ What would you place on your altar?
