Easing back into home life. (While knowing we have changes ahead.)

The sea gave us one epic day… 🌊 washing worries away but also tumbling 2 of us under her strong post-storm power. One is fine, the other nursing a sore shoulder.

We all expected days of rain. Grateful for squeezing a little more sun and play out of August. Though we did bail out early and come home to happy cats and warm beds. ⛺️

This new school year pushes my eldest out of the nest and out to college. Will they text or phone? Or will I know he’s alive through the sharing of cat videos. Big changes in our little family.

I know some of you are prepping for first days of schools and new schools too. What are you feeling about it?

As mums it can be easy to get absorbed by all the caring, planning and thinking. One of the things that made a huge difference for me, back when I was single parenting an under 5, was learning to hula hoop.

After seeing the awe inspiring on stage in Bristol, where she hopped through ‘Slave to the Rhythm’ I immediately bought a hoop. ⭕️🌟

It was a kids hoop. It was impossible.

I looked up lessons and went to classes with and haven’t stopped since. In fact I’ve taught thousands of people to hoop since then!

😀 I love seeing the glee of defying gravity.
🔥 hearing about peoples partners notice the difference in them
🌟 being in circle in a circle - a playful community

Wonderful to be part of Emerging Earth festival 🌿 co-facilitating an Active Hope Spiral with Charlotte Carson (who is wiser than to hang out here!)🌀

It was an honour to hear all those hopes and fears shared - thanks to everyone who joined us.

A pleasure to be back on the beautiful wild earth at thanks to for bringing together such a wonderful event - I wish I could have stayed longer!

The evening around the fire was a real treat 🔥 with songs moving and mustard! 💛

There’s something so nurturing about picking fruit from your garden.

This is the first time we’ve had more than a handful of blackcurrants. Massive surprise taking the net back today (it’s one of those big white ones - feels a little bridal) and there they were.

Jewels.

So mouthwatering and zingy. Best part of a kilo here and a few more to come…
