Headstones are often made from Granite imported from the other side of the world. They come into the UK ready shaped from a factory in the Far East, the work of a monumental mason only being to sandblast the inscription and fixing it in the cemetery. Where is the heart and sense of community in this cold process? Why have a cold slab of shiney Granite from thousands of miles away when there are stones locally that look and feel right, and are a small chunk of our own land and history. [ 51 more words ]

We made these hand blown glass marbles containing ashes for a client. All the different colours reflect the different aspects of their personality. They sit in a bowl as a group, and at family events everyone picks one to hold and think about the person they have lost, and include them in the gathering.

We've done our first pet memorial pieces recently. This is a pedant with a little of the ashes of a beloved dog inside. I think it looks absolutely beautiful.
