May is National Walking Month, a campaign which aims to get more people walking.

Why walking? Walking is an easy exercise, which doesn't need special equipment. Short walks are a perfect way to start and there are lots of easy ways to fit walking into your day - at work, once you clock off, with your family and at the weekend.

Need help and encouragement to get walking? We've two suggestions to share with you.

If you like using Apps, then download the NHS Active Walking Tracker from your App store. You can use the App to track your walks and set goals and the App includes hints and tips to help you achieve your goals. Look out for a pink logo with the Active 10 on it to know you are downloading the right app.

You might also like to join in with organised walks. You can join in with gentle and moderate walks in Frome, organised by the Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership. Monday walks go from the Cheese and Grain (meet at 10.15) and Wednesday walks start here from Frome Medical Practice (meet at 9.15)

All the details are available on the SASP website:

Pay it forward explained 💖

Its PAY-IT-FORWARD day! This felt like a good opportunity to remind everyone that Tibetan Memories, the wonderful cafe that operates from The Good Heart is a pay-it-forward cafe. This means that you can:
- Pay for an extra meal or drink for someone else who might need it in the future
- Claim a free meal or drink at any time that you are in need or unable to afford food or drink

Please help spread the word and the pay-it forward kindness!

Wellbeing Frome Latest News

Wellbeing Frome is a new community group which has been set up to support people in Frome access complementary and natural therapies, no matter their income.

There are many local residents who are not currently benefitting from the rich array of natural therapies on offer in Frome.

The reason may be financial, or that people are not yet aware of how natural treatments may help them, be it for aches and pains or long term conditions.

Natural therapies seek to address the root cause of a problem, or if that is not possible, improve general wellbeing.
