Friday the 13th was once a sacred day of the Goddess. One of the plants most connected to the divine feminine is the Rose.

Today is the second Friday the 13th of this year, and there will be a third in November.

Three has always been the number of the feminine…
the maiden, the mother, the wise woman.

Before it became a day of fear or superstition, Friday the 13th was a day to honour the divine feminine, the creative force of life itself.

And when I think about the energy of the feminine, one plant always comes to mind…
Rose.

Rose is one of the most ancient heart medicines we have in herbalism.

I work with rose for those carrying a mother wound,
for those who feel disconnected from their own femininity and for those who want to soften the heart while still feeling protected.

Rose does something beautiful in the female body.

It opens the heart,
but it also holds it in protection.

So today, on this Friday the 13th, I am honouring the feminine through the medicine of rose.

Because the feminine isn’t weakness. It is softness with strength.

When we get a visit of birds singing the Great Mother is speaking through hedge, branch and wing. Often bringing messages of love and reassurance from the Earth and our loved ones in spirit. 🌿

Often we are being asked to open up our own voice to talk, sing, shout and connect with the current and feeling of our own divinity through the places we’ve been taught to be quiet. 🌀

I’ve walked through initiations and circles of stone.I’ve sat at places like Stonehenge and felt the pulse of the old ways. 🌀

And I’ve also made tea in leggings and tied my hair back with a scrunchie whilst deep in ritual.

The universe is weaving things together to bring your life into alignment - in the way that is best for you. Your spirit guides and ancestors ask for you to think carefully about your next movement in life and what it is you truly want as part of your souls journey and then do everything you can to bring into alignment this side whilst they support nudge and guide from the other. If things feel a bit chaotic it’s because things are falling away that no longer align with your life - stay true to yourself ⭐

It is time my loves! Change is here - now! What are your inner most dreams? What are you being called to bring into being? What makes your soul sing? Where do you need to heal? To forgive? To love? Right - Protection

If you have been feeling vulnerable lately, shaky, confused or off centre - it is because your energy is going through an upgrade. This morning I woke to the sound of a blackbird singing in the garden. Since I moved back into a town from the countryside the one thing I miss the most is the sound of the birds singing. I live on a new build estate near a woodland and hoped as the building work settled and the birds became familiar with us they would start to visit the gardens. This was a beautiful message ☀️

In some ancient practices such as Druidry and the Priestess Path the blackbird calls us to a threshold, an enchanting gateway between the two worlds, calling us forward onto a deeper spiritual path and deeper self awareness. Their singing and presence signalling a new beginning and a chance to answer the deeper calling of your soul. My favourite times of the day are sunrise and twilight - these gateways hold much wisdom if we still enough to listen. 🌅

I have been on a very deep journey of the soul for the past ten years and intensely so this past two - as I step forward and outward I know the calling of the Goddess, Mother Earth and the sweet souls of the plants I work with and tend to walk beside me and Blackbirds calling this morning lifted me. 🌿

Sweet beautiful messages are always being shown to us if we can be present and slow enough for them to find us 🌀
