Ishbel and her family have asked we share the arrangements for Gordon's funeral service which are as follows:

Galashiels/Edinburgh

Peacefully on Thursday 14 August 2025 at Borders General Hospital, Gordon, much loved husband of Ishbel. Loving dad to Rowan, Kirsty and Jamie and father-in-law to Ross, Alan and Jane. Proud and doting grandpa to Niamh, Megan, Cairn, Joel and Finlay. Well loved and good friend to all his family and friends.

A private cremation will be followed by a celebration of Gordon’s life at Galashiels Parish Church (formerly St. Paul’s) on Monday 1 September at 1pm. All who knew Gordon welcome.
Family flowers only please. There will be an opportunity as you leave the church to donate to Parkinson's UK and Scripture Union Borders in memory of Gordon.

Boyd and his family have asked we share the arrangements for Anne's funeral service which are as follows:

Peacefully at home, following a short illness, on Saturday 26 July 2025, Anne much loved wife of Boyd.
Loving mum to David and Graham, granny to Harris and big sister to Jane.
Funeral will take place at Borders Crematorium on Tuesday 12 August at 10am to which all family and friends are welcome.
Family flowers only please but donations, if desired, to Border Cancer Services in memory of Anne.

FUNERAL OPERATIVE REQUIRED

We are looking for an additional member to join our friendly team.

Duties will include on call duties on a rota-system.
Casual hours as and when required. Would suit someone who has retired early or has other flexible work.
Due to contractual obligations you must live no more than 30 minutes from Galashiels.

Candidates should be physically fit, have a clean driving license as well as a respectful manner to ensure families are cared for with dignity and respect at all times.

This is not a full/part time post. This is on average 1 - 2 weeks per month with additional cover when required.

Peacefully at home on Friday 18 July 2025, Maureen (nee McGill), beloved wife of Jim. Loving mum to Steven, Lesley, Samantha, Russell and Grainger. Much loved mother-in-law, granny and great-granny.
Requiem Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady and St. Andrew R.C church on Thursday 21 August at 11.45am, thereafter to Heatheryett Cemetery for 1pm. Family flowers only please. There will be an opportunity as you leave the church to donate to Border Cancer Services and Callum’s Trust in memory of Maureen. RIP

Died 4 July 2025 at Borders General Hospital, age 70 years.
Beloved husband of Sheila, dearly loved father of Shona, Rory, Mairi, Catriona and Ewan. Loved father-in-law of Charlene, Aaron, Peter and Veralucia. Loving grandfather of Isobel, Mia, Evangeline, Caitlin, Hamish, Fiona, Alastair, Elspeth, James, Iain, Magnus and Duncan.
Guy will be received into St Cuthbert’s RC Church, Melrose on Monday 4 August 2025 at 5.30pm. Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday 5 August at 11.30am. Interment thereafter in Wairds Cemetery, Melrose.
All friends are respectfully invited to both services.

Loving grandad to Lindsay, Nick, Kirstin, Jamie and Finlay and a much loved great – grandad.
Service will take place at Borders Crematorium on Friday 25 July at 2pm to which all friends are welcome.
Family flowers only please but there will be an opportunity, as you leave, to donate to the residents fund at Riverside Healthcare centre in memory of John.
